I agree that those are not crucial things but I think they add a touch of technology which does not damage the whole but eventually help to create a nice contrast between history and future.
Of course in the assumption that there are no issues with those ;-)
Apparently the designer of the new XF was previously employed by Aston Martin. Hence the similarity between the two cars. Though quite a few respondents to this thread have criticised the new XF, it is recognised by most of the experts as a novel addition to the existing design standards in the industry. On that basis alone, the XF deserves recognition.
Right. Ian Callum was an Aston Martin person before.
The XF is a big jump in the future and a big change in the design so it does not surprise me that some people still needs time to get familiar with that. Also it is a car that has to be seen and touched in reality. Most of all the interior are way ahead than anything else and the outside will make anybody else old. Sales are already verryyy good
to me, the side of the car looks like a lexus gs. on the inside, you can see they used allot of the materials you see in ford, lincoln and mercury use.
he is sooo right punch hard and keep hard on the gas car makes a great sound i tried it just sweeeet. Never did play with the paddle gears next time i will lol. Hope this car is a big hit. As a second hand car should be intresting just have to wait and see
I believe that Jaguar has finally managed to create a good competitor against the cars offered today. Its sleek, cool and eye-catching. It is time for Jag to show what their factory can really do...
Yeah, I'm kinda confused what this Jag/TATA merger means for my favorite car? I'm not sure if it's a good move or if Jag is gonna be over an done with because the company is getting tossed around like a ragdoll? I guess it remains to be seen.
TATA motors has said that it will give Jaguar and Land Rover its full backing but they wont do anything else They wont interfere with Jaguar and Land Rover Business
Correct so it is just the additional money (and Ratan has a lot of money) which is needed to go ahead. Jaguar will be more English now with Tata than before with Ford
Tata Motors is one of the largest companys in the world and they have billions to spend if need be. Mr Tata thinks Jag and Land Rover are the grandest rides ever created. Thats mostly because of Englands past involment in India and most older Indians think everything English is good
Actually Jag was lucky it was under Fords umbrella. Ford gave them money and technical support. Fords ownership of Aston also benifited Jag as Aston payed Jag for V8 engines and in return lent some of there people to aid Jag. Ford did well to Jag and LR and Im kinda sad to see them leave but Tata bank account is bigger and more money is always good
Ford is actually doing better then GM or Chrysler. Ford has posted a small profit while GM has posted a huge loss so far this year. GM is also suffering because several of its new models arnt selling as well as expected.
Ford is also getting payed by Tata to help keep Jag engine production going
So Ford is far from dead and is in fact alive and well
That new Jag engine sure is going to be great. Finally, they'll have a modern 5 liter V8! Something to kick German ass. As for Ford, I think their losses, however insignificant as they may be, are just advertised more. You don't see them saying GM has finally made a profit. IMO Chrysler is dead.
I think it looks like a damn buick lucerne...can jaguar not be original?? they practically made a twin of aston martin when they made the new jk, it looks so similar
The aston DB9 was originally started by campbell, and finished by a danish guy. V8 vantage similar aswell. So its no suprise that cars desinged by the same man, look similar. Film music composers have similar arrangements in there music, just like car desingers. Besides, whats so bad about looking like an aston!!!??
The headlamps look like a combination between the Audi, Subaru and Passat. The tail lights is a copy of the Audi's. Nevertheless, it's a lovely car. I like the interior design.
I like the S Type headlights better than this one. The thing I didn't like with the S Type was the rear lights design, and this would've fixed it. So now I like the rear, and find the front so-so. But I do like the front air intake on this one, reminiscent of the Maseratti, rounder version.
i hope for jaguar that the hole concept of the car will be right and successful, because this is no jaguar...!!! this is a little bit ford, the front is subaru, there is a little bit lexus... jaguar lost it's unique selling proposition!!! every child and every woman was able to recognize a jaguar immediately until now! take off every jaguar sign from the car and put it on a city place; then ask people which car this is???
I can just tell one thing. GO and see it in reality whithout prejudice and you will be amazed by the elegance of the car and by the class and the level of the interior. Way above any competitor in its class.
A break was necessary with the past and soon the people will see how Jaguar that car is!!!
the concept car was ok! that was without compromise a step towards the future! bot the car out of the series 1... look at the ugly door handles... look at the ford dashboard... look at the ugly head lamps and the ugly grille, compared with the concept car! JAGUAR has earned more attention to detail, if they want to manage the future!
I am happy that TATA are now the owners of Jag, They will improve the company immensely

looks good...I like it. The rising gear selector and rotating vents just seem pointless things to go wrong though.

perhaps,with a new name (....)XF?

I think it looks great. Jaguar needs a modern looking car like this, otherwise they won't survive. It's that simple.

Which class of cars does this Jag fall under?

IT should be competeing with the BMW 5 class, Audi A6 and Mercedes E. It is replacing the S-Type
