To protect the identity of Ruth, an actor played her part, but the story is supposed real & based on a 12 month observation of her life. I don`t think there are any other actors but I think Rufus SHOULD have gotten an actor to play his part!!!

Psychiatrists ruin peoples lives. I agree with rufus all mental health hospitals should be closed down.

Are you speaking from experience? You can't rule out mental health facilities people do get help from them. I have after ten years of mental pain I finally asked for help and got it it's now 18 months on and I am better than I have been since my very early teens. I also have many friends who have become better with medicine. I feel it should be a choice whether you medicate or not. Because both work. it just depends on the patient.

@ladybard1968 ya ik bc i have it, i have a mental illness, i go crazy and i break down almost everyday now bc i have it. my mom is fighting for me not to go into a health hospital. its scary... very scary

2 Dr's said I had "gas" - they didnt listen to what I was describing the exp. I later researched and found it was a anticipatory panic-anxiety disorder. anti-depressants (which I stopped taking after a few days because I did not like the effect it had on my state of mind.

Later, a psychiatrist, whom fished for any traumatic experience to pin as the cause also anti-depressants. I will be pursuing a clin.psych degree.

Psychiatry is a shot-gun method; like chemotherapy.

Wow Rick, you are really harsh, I wouldn't want to have you to turn to if I ever had emotional difficulties! 'Mollycoddles'? Is that your attitude to anyone who is experiencing problems, whether they have been been given a psychiatric label or not?

As far as I can see, Rufus May is offering a compassionate and truly listening ear to a fellow human who is distressed. I can't imagine you are very kind to your own vulnerabilities or problems if that's your outlook.

Now it's analysis,,, this time corresponding with a dead brother. It's becoming obvious that Rufus and Ruth are two of a kind. They both want psychiatry to be turned into a mutual admiration society that mollycoddles their obsessions. Ruth even gets a weekend break out of Rufus.
