You are gorgeous!!! I'm sorry you have to put up with crap from rude, insensitive, unthinking people with poor character. They don't deserve your friendship. Just wish there were more people in this world with good character, for all of our sakes =)
I think it is important to stand up for yourself. I never stand up for myself. I get bullied quite a bit. It was such in a way that people would denounce when if I dared to speak up. They would question me back such like why can you not take a joke. What a bitch you are, you cold fish. Both men and women spoke to me in this way.
u r beautiful and I have albinism too so I know how feels but it really hurts when someone makes fun of me because of the color of my hair or how my eyes r weird
@88bluebirds No it is not. Having Albinism isn't simply about being "white" as people with Albinism range from white to "normal" pigmentation. Albinism is diagnosed primarily as an eye condition which is why there is a such thing as Ocular Albinism (someone with "normal" pigmentation but with the albinism eye condition). You simply can not have Albinism without the eye problems.
@88bluebirds No. But it's pretty much the latest pseudo science going around the internet. Essentially, the premise is that white people are "abnormal" black people. Apart from being racist, it's also a totally abhorrent way to describe people who are albino.
This is it folks, you are either the one who is picked on in life or you are the one who takes matters into their own hands. Had I been fully aware as I am now I would have caught one of my bullies by themselves and beaten the crap out of them with a bat or a belt. If you take matters into your own hands without anyone else seeing you do it then a bully will stop especially if you do it with pride. Hurt them just enough to make sure they fear you FOR LIFE.
People always seem to ridicule things they don't understand or that are different. You are an original and are special. Never worry about what other people think of you. It's their own unsecurities about themselves that make them say horrible things and laugh at other people. We need to embrace our differences instead of pointing them out and using them in a negative way. Kudos for standing up for yourself. You can be anything you want. Let them watch...
YES. Agreed so much. I was bullied constantly, and I always stood up for myself. Public humiliation of whispering, ball-less people does, indeed, work wonders. :) In my opinion, it's not always bullying that lowers people's self-esteem; a lot of the time, it's not standing up for yourself. I'm sure it's different for some people, but what saved me was at least knowing that I did something, even if it didn't always work.
...Looking back, I'm seriously lucky that I never got in any fights. xD
We in Suriname dont treat people with albinism different than other people. Most of us are even not aware of the problems of these people unless youve heard it from somebody that is real close to that person for example a family member
We in Suriname dont treat people with albinism different than other people. Most of us are even not aware of the problems of these people unless youve heard it from somebody that is real close to that person for example a family member
Your're pretty.....what do they have to say about u? You are albino .. and they're so ignorant they dont know what that means all they see is someone who looks different so they pick on them.
my daughter has albinism she is ten and thank god she has not had any problems with bullying jus keep your head up u r beautiful young lady ppl talk regardless
my mom always told me never judge some one until there actions towards you affect you negative or postive there for treat everyone the same im not albino but if this lady in the video was very nice and respectful to me i would be nice to her
My bf is African American and also has albinism. He never had any problem with anyone. Although back in high school. He fought with this one guy becuz he picking on his brother. I never see people who r albino to be different anyone else. I have CP , and i do get treated differently too, so i kinda know how she feels.
dont let now one keep you down about what you have at least you did not make yourself that way like MJ did you albino and it genetics you cant help keep you head up and walk tall
Because if it is her peers and or kids at the school, lunch room, rollerskating rink etc. Even though it's wrong, it is normal behavior especially in mid school and high school. This does on through out life to us all just in diff degrees. I woudl liek to hear more about what she does to cheerlead herself to a better place inside herself. What does her family do to assist her in feeling/thinking better. People can be cruel in general just to different degrees
A lot of thought went into this reply but please read as well. From the description you can see this is a clip from an entire documentary. There is even a link to the website. Also Charise is a grown woman (35) in this video sharing her experience in school. About the actions of young people... You say normal behavior, I say accepted behavior, not to be confused with normal. There is no space here to explain. At any rate, if you are truly interested in her experience checkout all of her info.
@IjabaFilms You are absolutely right by saying accepted behavior as opposed to normal. Teasing, bullying goes on not only in school but persists throughout adulthood. I can only imagine what this girl goes through. Do you know her personally?
@moderadonna Thanks. Yes, Charise and I have been friends since 10th grade and I find her to be quite amazing because by 12th grade we were best friends and went everywhere together even after high school. I've seen how she's treated with my own eyes. Good thing she has a great family and some cool friends and we are all glad to know her (she's pretty funny too). :)
Does she live in Africa or in America? She looks fine to me. Kids pick on one another and this can go on through out ones whole life because even adults do it. Women are the worse! uhhuh. You know it. I think she is attractive and maybe shoudl stop spending time with ppl that don't like her. Let her know more that there are people that look like her or similar all over the world.
She lives in the US. Also she doesn't spend time with people who don't like her. She's talking about people who approach her. Charise has strangers walk up to her and say "you're ugly". In this clip, she's simply sharing an experience from school.
I agree, and was the same way. I've even had stereotypes told about and to me in High School. "Why don't you dye your hair?" Now I'm not asking you that question, but they would, and get nothing in return from me as my answer.
I was a bully from the first time I went to school til I graduated highschool. I regret being a bully, because deep inside, I felt like a loser who can't do anything right. So I torment other people to satisfy my weaker inside. I bullied mostly geeks. But now, I've fallen in love with a geek which I hope to have a bright future with. That girl may Be Albino
But she is Pretty.
She has Really pretty eyes.
In High School, I had alot of friends, but I was teased, and picked on, and harrassed for being Transgender.
I tried to get the school to fo something, but they never did.
So I just handled it myself, everytime someone started crap with me, I ended :)
Either by beating Their Ass(if THEY tried to fight me) or I'd get them back in other ways.
