  • Hey I just noticed this... If you listen closely to the groaning noises in the backround from 5:18-5:30 he says "you're going to hell" right around 5:29. Anyone else notice this or am I going crazy?

  • THE DEVIL AND HIS HAD ME DOWN. sigh... why do they always leave that line out?

  • @Peach102275 1:15 - 1:20 , its there haha

  • @MrJasonHimself how did i miss that? did my ears turn off when i listened the first time? lol thank you :D

  • @MrJasonHimself i swear to GOD it wasn't there before... ah geez, *puts pipe down* lol

  • goosebumps all over

  • Eargasm!!!!

  • i don't care how the video looks unless its actually for a video but if it is something likes this it doesn't matter just shut up about pixels and listen to the music

  • 5:30 - 6:38

Possibly the best musical experience ever for me.

  • @meiman9000 I would have to completely agree with you

  • Saw these guys last night in Charlotte. Absolutely amazing.

  • @jukebox181 me too i am sore from slam dancing

  • Saw them play this last night...sounds exactly the same it is just amazing how good they are

  • @SeduceHD I bet they are good. I would love to see them.

  • Tool rocks...and so does this video!!

  • The audio quality of this video's a lot better than I thought it'd be for 240p.

  • Tool is god's music

  • 240p we meet again......

  • too bad tool makes a record every 10 years this shit is too sick

  • @jixmixfix for fucking real

  • hands down the best fuckin tool song those riffs are awesome almost Megadeth like

  • If I had a dollar for every pixel this video has, I'd have 50 cents.

  • @mahnamesjakers if i had a dollar for every time i jizzed myself about how good this song is then i would be rich :P

  • Tool and a good sound system or earphones = magic

  • Isn't it so strange how much the sound of this band changed after Paul D'Amour was replaced by Justin Chancellor? Don't get me wrong I love every album from tool. But when Aenima was realesed there sound changed. I thought it was fairly refreshing but my point is, I couldn't believe how much the loss of D'Amour had affected there sound.

  • @UncleHappyHands It wasn't the only factor that caused their sound to progress, but from a bassists point of view I do agree it had a major effect. d'Amour had a punk-style attack to his picking and created a raw, aggressive sound, that fuelled the fairly angry, passionate Undertow album. Chancellor however focuses more on melody and pedal effects, and his picking is more measured; his style shows through in Tool's later albums with the more atmospheric sound they now have.

  • This is the only song i've heard by them..

    But his voice is A M A Z I N G . <3

  • @MrsFreakYou you should hear Vicarious, Right in Two, Parabola and 46 & Two to get started have fun

  • i never thought a lovesong could ever be so damn cool

  • @MasslRockss Funny! I was thinking the same thing ;P

  • High or not this song is simply amazing.

  • The bit from 5:50 onwards is just awsome!

  • Is it dim my eyes or damn my eyes?

  • omfg my speakers have just broke at the best part of this amazing track ¬¬... pisstake

  • 3:58

  • shine on

  • This is better than sex.

  • @InfernoVIVIVI Not better...but damn close. Definitely better than food.

  • @InfernoVIVIVI normally i would disagree with this kind of statement but yeah, very true.......

  • @InfernoVIVIVI if you have sex to this song... whats that?? haha :p

  • @InfernoVIVIVI uh yea i took that a little too literally...still cant get my dick out of the speaker.

  • @InfernoVIVIVI no its not!

  • @Mrcherokee19 You sir, are wrong

  • @InfernoVIVIVI close buy not quite...haha

  • @InfernoVIVIVI Apparently you've never had sex.

  • @InfernoVIVIVI not unless your having sex to it ;)

  • @InfernoVIVIVI this is sex

  • listo a chorear mas riffs :)

  • havent heard a riff like that from tool in a long time. thats why this album turned tool into more of a progressive metal stage. really cool to think about

  • Go Prog Metal!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Anyone who says Maynard is a great singer is in stage 2. he speaks the truth is what makes him great.

  • @kingrrex Stage 2 lol? its awesome music not a chemistry project lol.

  • Maynard can sing the alphabet, as long as I'm concerned, and would still sound fucking awesome!

  • Down-voted, cus fuck you.

  • dude u gotta make a video for the tool n deftones passenger that song is fukn sick mad props on the vid keep em comin

  • Not to be a dick, it's just that; you DO know Jambi isn't on Aenima, right?

  • what time is this................I CANT COUNT IT

  • @TMANMAN16z YouTube stalking FTW >:D

  • 1:00 My brother got that particular issue of Revolver magazine back when it was new, I read the hell out of the article on Tool :)

  • Tool makes my tool excited.

  • Thomas Jefferson: 1816 “If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.”

  • President Andrew Jackson: 1829-1837 “You are a den of vipers! I intend to rout you out, and by the Eternal God I will rout you out. If the people only understood the rank injustice of our money and banking system, there would be a revolution before morning.”

  • no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men.”

  • President Woodrow Wilson: 1916 “I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the civilized world. No longer a government by free opinion,

  • Every time I listen to Tool for an extended amount of time, I get overtaken by the intelligence in their songs, making me think and feel so many things and I feel like I can never listen to any other band ever again. Then I get a headache. But I always come back.

  • Disposition

  • They opened with this song when they came to town. I fucking lost it, man. This song is a natural disaster in a box.

  • Shine on forever

    Shine on, benevolent sun

Look up the concept of the 'suns' in alchemy. The infernal sun (black sun) is far older than the Wewelsburg symbol adopted by Hitler's Tird Reich. Maynard Keenan is talking 'bout the Right-Hand Path and development of the 'pure' sun of philisophical gold.

    Mysticism 101.

It's out there, and most intelectuals AND world leaders don't care if you believe it or not. You only attain success and noteriety if you're clued in.

    Tool is clued in.

  • This song is about the destruction of the Egos, the uphill, impssibly hard tast of freeing the true self from the carnage and temptations of our world. The ego's are the facade that we hold before our eyes every day. Built up from lifetimes of programming, and the constant missconceptions that we construct and then hold our lives to. Pride, Lust, Greed, Jealousy, Envy, Fear, "Feast like a Sultan I do; with treasures and flesh never few" "Shine down upon the broken shine until the two become one"

  • i can play this but i dont know what effects adam uses. can someone tell me?

  • @heriticsfist for the solo i know he uses a talk box.

  • @CaVeMaN0022 yeah sickest talk box solo in history.

  • @crimsonakd

I guess you haven't ever heard Stevie Wonder, Peter Frampton, Nazareth, Scorpions if you said that.

  • @456and7strings I have heard Peter's Talk box work. Stevie,Nazareth n Scorpions talk box work I'm not familar with, I'll check it out. But my bias resides with Tool so what little i hear in Jambi makes me want to get one instinctively.

  • @crimsonakd

Scorpions - The Zoo (only watch it live though, studio solo is short)

Steve Wonder has lots of them and I don't know which one to tell you specifically just try his name with talk box next to it and you should find some

Nazareth - Hair of the Dog (live version usually has a better solo just search 'em live)(I did a cover of the song about uuuhh maybe two to three years ago and put it up here recently, it's on my channel, I didn't do a very good job on it though)

  • I think A Perfect Circle is just as good but in a different way. Neither would exist at all without Maynard. He da man

  • I think Maynard should be recognized up there with fuckin Mozart and Beethoven for what he's brought to music. I hope thousands of years from now he represents what humanity at the time meant to people, like they did in their time, albeit only hundreds of years before us.

  • @jmarra07 it´s not only maynard. tool is just as great as all members together. otherwise a perfect circle would be as great as tool.

  • @resident2k danny is the most skilled of all of them, but its a collaboration of all of them that makes tool above and beyond better than anyone else alive

  • @jmarra07 it´s not only maynard. tool is just as great as all members together. otherwise a perfect circle would be as great as tool.

  • seeing this song performed live and feeling that bass in your heart..nothing compares. One of my absolutely favorite songs and performance by Maynard.

  • Maynard sayd he hates celebrity worship and making Idols out of singers, so I don't wanna feel that way about him.

BUT HE MAKES IT SO DAMN HARD!

  • @MajickDemoniack I think he means respect his talent but he just like any other man has his faults

  • My third eye.....

  • BLA BLA BLUB !

  • I love how there's so many different rhythms in this song and that they all fit together perfectly.

  • Somtimes progress is a light that must go away. Sometimes knowledge is a book you cannot read today. Sometimes the dark side is what is pulling you down. Sometimes its the lighter side I have found that is going to make me drown. I enjoy the sounds but I also count the many frowns. I sometimes pray often and long. Though I am falling down all along. Yes I listen and I enjoy the angels songs. Here I am stuck and struck beneathe the throngs I have been here far to long. I write my own way

  • I am interested.

  • black people

  • @philzor911 you mean nigras?

  • can you get the artwork in clearer? Such a shame it's so blurry...how many hours I spent in my room, mesmerized by the art, hypnotized by the music, shocked that other people thought the same way I did...it was the awakening of my youth. The affirmation that perhaps I wasn't mad; but, rather, the lunatics were running the asylum, so to speak...

  • really, what id to be said of this music??? fantastic. It is every once in a while that a band comes along and exceeds all expectations, tool is one of those bands.

  • Magnificient

  • I swear to god I feel like going out in the blaze of glory when 3:58 kicks in...You guys rock!

  • This song (and the band for that matter) is pure. Not pure brilliance, or pure crap, or pure bliss, or pure reasoning, or pure absolution. They simply are pure. And that is why they are appreciated. Putting method behind their madness only taints it. Let it be, and it will become . . . whatever you wish it to be.

  • This song is such a pain in the ass to learn on the drums...

  • fucking amazing

  • THE BEST INTRO! FOR ANY METAL SONG, TOOL U KICK ASS

  • I think someone down-rated this just so they could be the first one to do it.

  • //listas.20minutos.es/lista/mejores-discos-de-tool-257339/

    DO IT FOR TOOL

  • Can you do "H"? I love that song!!

  • Saw Tool in 1993...front row center...Saw Tool in 2007...front row center...Yeah Baby!!!!

  • Saw Tool in 1993...front row...Saw Tool in 2007...front row center...Yeah baby

  • One person couldn't handle Maynard's awesomeness, so his head exploded and a piece of his skull hit his mouse as it passed over the Dislike button.

  • @taylorstone gotta be one of the most original "dislike" comments ive seen so far lmao

  • @taylorstone True. Mr. Keenan and all of his music is impossible to hate.

  • @taylorstone He must have been.... Hiiigh

  • @taylorstone :O o noez your right, now it's two! it's like the start of a zombocalypse, Maynard's Awesomeness is spreading!

  • @taylorstone I hate it when people comment on the number of dislikes, but this one was creative unlike somthing like "X of people need to die".good thinking.

  • @taylorstone well, you kinda have to blame Maynard....

  • @taylorstone i think it was dannys drums that blew his mind

  • @taylorstone Not Maynard's awesome, TOOL's awesome.

  • @54MProductions Of course, the entire band is well past awesome... Bordering somewhere on the lines of 'Epic' and 'No human is worthy'... I was only referring to Maynard's specific awesomeness though...

  • @taylorstone man i doubt they even made it past Justin Chancellor's hard ass bass

  • Ahh since my sis is listening to music with only two words repeatedly singing and is only 3 min long, i'll listen to this epic 7 minute and lots of lyrics to make your mind go where it belongs is fine any day for me :D heck i'll die listening to tool for the rest of my life. I'd like to hear her say that the same with her music lol i'll never forget tool as long I live =]

  • Tool is the most epic fucking band period

  • praise the benevolent Son Jesus Christ!

  • @antione775 Fuck you.

  • it's Tool...what's not to like!

  • 2:00 - 3:00 best part

  • Great song. Lyrics are good too, about remembering your true immortal essence rather than thinking yourself to be Egos or "Legion".

  • i think im in love with this song

  • can you all shut the fuk up? you dont know whats what anyways and we are just going to piss each other off with our suggestive hypocritical crap so just listle observe and shut the fuk up? Thats what im going to do RIGHT NOW im shutting the fuk up too

  • @canadiantile niiiiiiiice

  • 1 guy must be killed by the third eye

  • 3:58 fuckin rocks

  • 5:33

  • Why is there a Dr Dre vid in related videos?

  • I banged more chicks to this song than any other song!

  • i fucking love the solo on this song!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm contemplating this, I'm thinking hard, what lesson is to be taught? Am I to behold some great revelation, perhaps one that could foster progress in the mind of Humanity? Can I ever see through the eyes of this man or is this man seeing through eyes borrowed from another who he himself cannot see? Might he be so blind that the any revelation could only come from me?

So many hard questions but only one true answer, and it comes crashing @4:01

And I just start banging my head on this monitor

  • saying tool fans are all close minded dicks is like saying all fags talk with a gay voice .

we're PEOPLE, we dont belong in groups . we're individuals, and you sound like an asshole as soon as you try to lump me with some close minded dickhead just ebcause we both listen to TOOL . I fucking love TOOL but I realize that the whole point of TOOl isnt to know the way its to embrace the unknown way, which could be anything .

  • you see guys......thats why I´m a happy Person.....I´ve started to listen to tool In 96 here in PORTUGAL and I´ve waited and waited for tool to come to Portugal for so maaany years until they "landed" here in 2002.......after that they did 2 more gigs in Portugal....I WAS PRESENT IN ALL 3 GIGS TOOL DID IN PORTUGAL.....I don´t understand Why there are North Americans that didn´t ever seen a TOOL LIVE!!!!????....Fucki´n lucky Nation you guys have/born into.......

  • @migasnunes I suggest saving your money and flying to see them. It's fucking worth it man. Transcendental experience.

  • i m ashamd 2 say iv never bought any cd ever tapes then straight to stealin online

but I always go to shows that helps make up 4 it all music should be free except for concerts keep those rockstar fucks workin for the money

  • @dellinger1000 i'm the same way, i was always too poor to buy cd's and then online piracy came about and it seemed the natural choice for me, being the huge music fan i was. i figure the record label keeps most of the money from album sales anyway and i surely dont want to support those fucks. i get out to every concert i can though since thats how most bands make their money, i've yet to see tool but the next time they're in california you bet your ass i'm going to be there

  • @dellinger1000 Im almost the same. I use piracy but recently I have been buying albums. I hope soon I can go to concerts though I dont think Ill have a chance to see Tool live.

  • No words to describe Tool's work.

  • FInally managed to get tickets to one of their concerts, money well spent and word of the wise, make sure you call in to work the next day cause you won't be able to hear a thing for a good 24-48 hours afterwards.

  • The part at 0:09 is the most brute force of music i have ever heard.

  • Tool is so good alot of music I torrent but with Tool I actually buy their CD's. Their that good.

  • I'm sure these fuckwads are in the vocal minority, I know plenty of decent people who listen to Tool. In the end every one of their songs is open to interpretation, and thats what these fucks have to realize. Also Tool is a great band, but that doesn't mean that everything in comparison to it sucks. Just my two cents. Tool should definitely continue to make music.

  • @TheAeonPhoenix

Not every song can be open to interpretation, some are about what they're about. Sober, Wings for Marie, Vicarious, Hooker with a penis, opiate, The Grudge etc etc

  • I while back I saw this amazing stop motion put to this video, but now I cant find it. There were siamese twins who were separated and they were also doll makers.... if anyone knows what Im babbling about please let me know where I can find it again.

  • nice

  • @hash4twenty Lol... You do know he says "Fuck you buddy." for the last thirty seconds of Hooker With a Penis, right? And, I list to Pink Floyd, Tool, Zeppelin, Deftones, RATM, APC, Hendrix, Muddy Waters, Bach, Ennio Morricone, Johnny Cash... pretty much anything with talent.

  • Adam Jones best riff.

  • @hash4twenty Fuck you buddy.

  • i feel this song really contols the fact that they are truly amazing progressive metal amazing song and band TOOL & APC wooooooohooooooooooo!

  • fucking badass song. It melted my panties off when they opened with it during their 07 tour.

  • It's too bad Tool isn't on iTunes, but it's for the best, I guess.

Tool really IS a modern Black Sabbath, you know? It's not like when BS (God, that's actually their initials?!) released Paranoid, the whole world fell for them. In fact, BS got a lot of bad reviews for their early material and was where Tool is now for quite some time, and look where the band is now.

I sure hope Tool is considered a mainstream legend by the late 2010s, or early 2020s.

  • \,,/ i love tool i love the music the art the voice the feal and i dont give a shit what anybody says

  • @rufmisfitter THAT'S THE SPIRIT

  • I think you're all wrong. Maynard sold out long ago... He sold his soul to make a record and you all bought one. All you buy and see on TV is a product waiting for your fat ass to just shut up and buy a new record.

Or at least that's what I heard him tell some hooker with a penis...

  • @LogicBeforeNorms he was refering to himself as the hooker with a penis

  • Tool is sick as fuck. But you're all biased in your comments. Yes they are very artistic in all aspects but all bands have their own message and feelings. Take Pink Floyd for instance, my favorite band, great message and also much great psychedelic art. I mean common, The Wall...What else you need???

  • @erc4u387

Tool is modern day Floyd or Zeppelin. Simple as that. But their sound is so unique, its hard to even find a band to compare them to. They change dramatically from album to album in one way or another.

  • @jbarzee89

It's because they don't sound like a band. If they did it would sound like four guys playing a song. But when their music leaves those speakers it's one single entity. And that's hard to capture.
