the sunkin tipped planar reminds me of the dogbone unit octahedron. to find this unit look on google images for origami cuboctahedron and click one of the set pictures of a business card unit. then go to the site on go to dogbone unit.
Why is it called Sprinkler? Because the first one I made, the 6 pieces without the sunken tips, reminded me of.... a Sprinkler! (In English: a thing you connect to a garden hose to water your lawn. In Dutch: a thing on the ceiling that produces water when there is a fire.)
I really don't have any idea why they are called sprinklers, ask Paula Versnick, she named her origami. I'm active, I just started to post my videos to Metacafe because everybody was whining about my sped up videos, and the videos often go over 10 minutes.
well there just being asses(the whiners) because an intellegent person is patient and can pause the video so they can make it, i did that with your omega star one last night, still gotta work on it though. =)
What is a sprinkler? The first thing I think of when you say sprinkler is a thing you connect to a garden hose to water your lawn. Which not many people are using right now where I live, given there's a water shortage.
That was a great how-to movie, and im glad to see that your still active to. May i ask why sprinklers are called the way they are?(Mabey because of what they do but im just wondering)
