Yes, I realize what you are saying. But I have seen pictures of dressage horses that seemed very unhappy and their mouths sore with such bits. I guess some people are too harsh.

Yes, some people are. But riders who love and understand their horses will never do anything harmful against them.

A bits' severity is depended on riders' ability of using it...
