  • I think I got an orgasm when he sang "and" at 3:06. That voice..

  • BEST SONG EVER, MY CHILDHOOD SHOULD BE IN 1968 INSTEAD OF 2007

  • look at that sexy bastard

  • That`s where they were performing in Denmark.

  • This man excites me.

  • WHY MUST YOU BE SO SEXY..... AND DEAD

  • did Jim Morrison really write the music or the guy with the glasses? I agree that he looks a lot like Will Ferrel.

  • @rotamina Both Morrison and Kreiger wrot the songs, but it was Krieger who wrote most of the hits like Light my fire and Hello, I love you. Morrison penned their most epic songs like The End and When the music's over.

  • @reznorfan15 Light my fire was thought of by morrison,, Krieger only wrote down morrisons words,

  • @MHendriks89 you are mistaken. krieger wrote the music and lyrics when morrison instructed the band to write more songs. that was robbys first song he ever wrote. morrison penned the second verse. that was it.

  • @reznorfan15 hello i love you was by morrison

  • @tupapasito2103 yes, i stand corrected.

  • @rotamina Correction, Will Ferrel (a clown) looks like Jim.

  • Jim's dad was a Navy Admiral. This song has more to do with Jim and his own conflicted feelings/views in regards to his intelligence and the unecessary war vs his own childhhod/destruction he knew was awful for all parties. a brilliant man

  • No matter what any one else says, the doors songs are so true everything that happened at the time, there is not another band that can rival the doors.

  • All he said was the truth......ALWAYS!!! In his own way!!!

  • the war is over for the unknown soldier because he's dead. duh.

  • Excellent druming.

  • War is not over as there will always be a new place to fight

  • thanks for putting this up!

  • I attended the Frankfurt concert, still have the program (it's in German).

  • Unborne living DEAD - Breakfast where the NEWS is RED - Bullet strikes the HELMETS HEAD - IT'S ALL OVER 4 the UNKNOWN Soldier - Another reference to the ill effects of TELEVISION and it's all assuming role in modern society, where the politicians fabricate WAR that is advertised on the MEDIA, but is a facsimile of the REAL WAR being fought on the streets of AMERICA through the lies perpetrated on the NIGHTLY NEWS.

  • Sirens Water Rain & Thunder Jet from the base Hot searing insect cry The frogs & crickets Doors open & close The smash of glass The Soft Parade An accident Rustle of silk, nylon Watering the dry grass Fire Bells Rattlesnake, whistles, castanets Lawn mower Good Humor man Skates & wagons Bikes
  • He was so beautiful! I think he was too smart for his own good. RIP Jimmy!

  • War is over

  • @cookmoore

what makes you think that war is over? that humours me. war is not over. news flash.

  • I understand that is the reality. I believe Jim said, "The war is over" at the end of this song.

  • @srh1511 Maybe "war is over" means it is over for the victims.

  • @finylvinyl66 that's exactly what it means. it's over for the unknown soldier and also all over fore everyone else.

  • @srh1511 I'm sure he doesn't mean war in the whole world is over... You can't take such a broad statement so generally if you want understand any kind of poetry.. It could mean anything was over.. Any type of conflict or struggle could symbolize a war.

  • Thank for the outstanding music.

  • One of the greatest live performers in Rock N Roll history...RIP Lizard King.

  • jim morrison at his best

  • looks like yesterday .....always new ...

  • Check out the video response to this ! Comment id love the feedback, cheers guys

  • Wooo Copenhagen Yearh!!

  • Copenhagen !

  • sin duda una de mis favoritas... Grande morrison!

  • 2 ppl are idiots

  • jim is the best at singing and how his personality is and the doors will always live on rest in peace jim=[

  • theres truly no audience in the original video..

  • @richone00

It wasn;t allowed to have public around the doors at that time.

  • this concert they did is definately one of the best, they ace every song, not a single off performance

  • The war is over

  • perfect lyric

nobody ever thinks about the unknown soldier

the "Happy guys" and the "Emos" should listen that musics and learn how to make good musics

  • This is from Copenhagen, Jim is sober... not so got....But still f..... good

  • This video is insanely sexy the energy, the sweat, and the power.

However, I sang this song twice in Paris last week, at the grave of the unknown soldier under the arc de Triumph and at Jim's grave-3.

I gave up singing it at Jims grave because I started crying but whatever haha.

Apparently I like to sing this around dead folk.

  • When he finally Opens his eyes at 3:12 he doest know where he is for a second i wonder what he was seeing when he had his eyes Closed.

  • esa cansion tiene mucho k ver con cada uno de nosotros metaforicamente independientemente de el genero k eschen o lesguste o no

  • 1:45 where you can see the sweat on his face...oh my...he is a sex god.

  • This is vintage Doors. He was assassinated, remember.

  • two fuking idiot´s don´t like the god of music¡

    The lizard king¡¡

  • Alot of people, who sound good, or can sing good, or have original voices. Are heavily insecure about their ability to sing, or the actual sound of their voice. Alot of times, its because the sound, the voice in ones head singing the song, sounds so dramaticaly different, then the one that comes out of the mouth. Atleas thats been my experience, when listening to my own voice, and my own singing of stuff I have written. But there isn't much I one can do about self insecurities. Accept laugh

  • Love the change of tempos and musical themes. The carnival rhythm of the chorus is mocking the official pomp of the ceremony celebrating the death of one who died unnecessarily for the sins of the state.

  • brillliant.anyone see the film When youre strange? i love watching him in it however there is such false crap cuz they dubbed words to go with pics or scenes of Jim that were untrue. one was at a concert Jim fell to the floor cuz he swallowed a bunch of hash. haha liars its the same shot as in here where he is portraying the solider. its stuff like that, that gives him and the band a bad name. i wish he could rest in peace. he is amazing and people should love him or keep their mouths shut.

  • the doors free me...

  • For a moment I forgot the video Was black/white

  • I love it when Jim smiled.

He made himself appear so scornful, which made it that much more special when he did smile. Seeing his rare flash of his grin sends my heart aflutter.

  • I dont like how some people try to make a sad and depressed person out of Jim. Who knows, maybe he was just that but his music stands for itself and anyway it doesnt matter today. The only thing that matters is that his music lives on and that he rests in peace.

  • @ichmagkirschen1 Here's my thought: Morrison, like any other individual, had his own complexities. The problem is that people tend to perceive celebrities as one-dimensional and then they pass on that one-dimensional image to others. Mass media also does not help with this either -- in fact, it tends to make the problem worse.

  • @ravenswingpoetry (cont'd) From what I have read, seen, and heard, Morrison's emotions as well as his lyrics ran the entire spectrum from absolute elation to abject sorrow. Couple this with a difficult childhood plus the troubles encountered as one of the first to reach "rock stardom" (not what I think he wanted, but that's a whole 'nother subject) and you've got it about right. Truth is, we all have such a range of emotions -- the key is whether we acknowledge this truth about ourselves or not.

  • @ichmagkirschen1 You're totally right: if he was sad and depressed, it's still far more important that he was a musical genius... but don't forget the reason most people point out his sadness and depression.... THEY are sad and depressed. And it finally feels good, finally feels like a tiny bit of relief, to know that a genius like Jim Morrison might have felt the same way as them. I'm just saying: go easy on people. Being human is a fucking bummer. Let's be nicer to each other.

  • @ichmagkirschen1 I personally think he grabbed life by the balls.. and just took it for everything it was worth.

  • @ichmagkirschen1 well said..

  • Sound......

  • @ 3:13-3:15, that's got to be the most contagious smile ever

  • Distinguidisimo poeta... the lizard king rules!

  • Amazing performance as allways by The Doors! One of the strongest songs I ever heard and Jim deliver it so strong when they play it live.

  • beauty

  • the doors music will live on as long as it can make you feel free

  • Never again another Jim. Society(not God!) doesn t give a second chance. So nowaday you must put up with Robin Williams and Shakira, and Stop. Resignation?. NO! So enjoy the Lizard King, at least he lives in our minds, in our hide, deep and secret wish of lost freedom,. Love this man.

  • @thedarkglobe if jim lived today he'd have commited suicide .....

  • @KafroThrasher thats a pretty big assumption. some would argue that he did anyway.

  • @reznorfan15 well considering that his death was caused by his choice , yes they 've got a point

  • Densmore rocks at intro. 0:24

  • jim morrison is genius

  • 2 people are poop sucking trolls.

  • Support our troops!

  • @frank47hammer Agreed, its a weird feeling though, those words "the war is over", at least Iraq that is, I'm still trying to wrap my head around this...

  • @frank47hammer Why?

  • @DarkMedievalTimes1 I was only kidding. Everytime I hear support our troops I about puke.

  • the world needs another band like the doors.

  • @stiffupperlip4 I'm working on it

  • @stiffupperlip4 Manic's are very powerful band too.. USA are not very keen on them so i hear..

  • Jim Morrison was a genius. And his band caught him when he fell.

  • 1 word. Ew

  • @Beeship Ew your face.

  • i dont know how people cant like something or dislike a band if there not apart of that era the doors were ahead of there time that was the shit back in the day i tell you one thing the doors music defiantly hits the soul and its better then rap music the doors will live forever and jim knew that he would live forever even though he is dead his words his poetry he just knew so people who dont like the doors i feel sorry for you

  • @boobhead222

totally agree.... im sick of idiots that have no idea of the contribution to freedom of speech that guys like morrison allowed us to have today

  • Wow 0 Dislike ... ;)

  • jim morrison was/is a legend....

  • what a voice!!!!

  • This is the best Unknown soldier, Seven Miles Long was what we called this performance, fuck all you cunts who didn't.

  • The Doors, album for album the best band of all time!

  • Man, Morrison sounds like a real drill instructor when shouts "present arms!" His own father was an admiral and commander of U.S. naval forces in the Gulf of Tonkin during Vietnam, and a naval aviator during WWII. I guess this song hit close to home for Jim-he sure took a different path than his father.

  • Watch the charts now, and there is nothing that even comes close to this. Nothing.

  • Whether or not you like the Doors, you gotta admit no one before or since has sounded quite like them; their sound is inimitably theirs

  • I woulda loved to have seen these guys in concert. One of the best and most influential groups ever!!!

  • Awesome

  • Jim Morrison America's poet

  • This "audience-noise" the first 2 seconds is fake dubbing. There is no audience in this version! Its a studio-recording from DR TV studios, Copenhagen, Denmark, 1968 - with NO audience.

  • unborn living, living dead....

  • This song isn't just about Vietnam, it's about war in general.

  • This song could have been done by u2. im sure the doors influenced bono. He dressed like jim in the early 80's

  • Jiiiiimmmmm Primo!!!!jajajaja como te adora mi primitivita eh? aparte de que estabas hermoso carajo, hermoso, eras un genio de la música compadre, EL MEJOR GRUPO POR MUCHO....

  • the doors, the best lyrics and music!

  • " guess you had to be there to connect with this song ..." Horseshit, you think Vietnam was the only conflict / war American's died in, why don't you pick up a newspaper sometime

  • guess you had to be there in the day to connect with this song and it is all happening again, how i lived this long, through it all ,is a mystery to me, hope ya"all dont ever have to know, but Bless ( that unkonwn,

  • was the USA the only country to have a war then? pahhhhhhhhhh

  • Yes! They were the only country to have a war then. What is your point? Don't be a hater if your country can't make a great hit song about a universal tragedy that every country can relate to. Write your own hit song ....pahhhhhhhhh!

  • Read ur history book you cock, ww2 was from 1939-1945 WAYYYY before the Vietnam war!!!!but we didnt whinge n moan we got on with it or write songs till MUCH later, EG John Lennon,Pink Floyd Etc.. Write a song? oh STFU daft lad and go back to wanking or whatever it was you were doing before u gave ur useless point

  • What does this have to do about WW2? What planet are you from? Are you smoking crack? The song is about war in general. It does not mention any specific war jackass! " Wait until the War is over." It could be any war. Grow a brain retard and learn how to spell while your at it.

  • By the way this song was not written for just the Vietnam War as you obviously assumed. Jim Morrison's dad served in WW2 . His dad was a Navy pilot and flew missions in the Pacific Theater from 1944 to 1945. His dad retired as an admiral.

  • God bless Wilkepedia

The root of all information for braindead spackers.

If you read my 1st post correctly i was replying to ALL who ASSUMED this song was written about the V War, Its just pricks like you that jump the gun with your no mark points no one cares about. Try masturbating less, both verbally and sexually...and once again have a fabulous night! xxxxxxx

  • where angels play wants to hump you

  • Lots, all wars???

    venus...

no il leave the drugs to tossposts like you..

well thankyou for your adult response you have proven again your a cock. thankyou and I bid you a good evening

  • Better to be poor and walk with dignity that to speak to a fool!

  • grammar correction.."THAN to speak to a fool" ok, now you can toddle off...Toodles!

  • No thats cockney something that you might understand you bloody stool! By the way you read Wickpedia too. "The root of all information for braindead spackers". You do realize that included yourself? I knew Jim's dad was Admiral since 1980. I sincerely doubt that you did or you would have never googled it.

  • I do not see any where here on these texts your 1st post mentioning your claimed V.C. interpretation of this film. LOL

  • "Bullet hit's the helmet's head"

That's such an incredible line, so thought provoking.

  • its STRIKES the helmets head

  • @reznorfan15 uhm, don't forget Copenhagen where this was taped!

  • 2:20 lol

  • the doors are one of the greatest bands ever

  • has to be one of my fave door songs!

  • Out all the songs I have ever heard, this is the best lyrical song ever!

  • I think this song speaks today in the USA? You can't find one politician or reporter asking what will happen when the wars in Iraq and Afganastan are over. It seems like people are content with endless war. I tell everyone this- both contries will do better without the US et al. And, The wounds will cut deep and last long just like Vietnam.

  • no, its jim morrison's reaction to the vietnam war

  • rip jim !!

  • Jim always had the coziest looking sweaters

  • He sounds really good here. I've read he had such insecurity about his voice, which is ludicrous, he had a marvelous voice.

  • I wonder what he was worrying about, he always sounded amazing

  • @dvinedzine yeah when they first started doing live performances..he would like face the band instead of the crowd cause he was so shy..and hated that he didnt sound like other singers of his time

  • @dvinedzine yeah he was pretty shy

  • @dvinedzine mhm when he first started he sang with his back against the audience for a whole show.

  • @dvinedzine this was the day he ran out of acid and booze haha

  • @dvinedzine he has a really nice voice but his disadvantage was that he was taking drugs.....

    From Greece with love! <3

  • Perfect baritone

  • This is a STRONG SONG!!! Love it!

  • the lizard king rules!!

  • seen this on sky arts the other night had to watch again... great!!

  • It doesn't get any better than this. Phenomanal!

  • R.I.P jim

  • great!
