My mother has this and I've been trying to help her to cover it up, we even bought this dermablend and since hers is around the eye area it burned when she applied it, we have nothing else to do since everything she applies to it burns since it's super sensitive in that eye area. I'm not sure what else to help her in, but I'm still looking!

Wow, I sometimes watch your natural hair videos and when I came across this I was shocked! I also have vitiligo (pronounced vit-ta-lie-go, btw) which I've had since I was two. I have it only on the right side of my face, and it's affected my gum color (pink instead of brown) and my lower lashes (white blond) both only on the right side. I'm glad to hear your spots are disappearing! Mines are nearly gone and most people don't know I have vitiligo. I use Elidel and Desonide cream. Great video!!!!!

Thank you for the video! I have had vitiligo since I was 8 years old, and I'm now 21 going to be 22. I have been using Protopic since 2001, but I have stopped using it a year ago b/c I have come to accept my vitiligo as something that is always going to be part of me. After I have accepted that, I enjoy life more!

Using Protopic on top of a steroid cream and going out in the sun 10-15 minutes helped get some pigmentation back! I also used Excimer laser treatment, and that helped some!

Im so happy I found this! I have vitiligo, have since I was 5, and its never really bothered me until recently when I saw a pale spot on my face, when I put regular makeup on now, a spot on my cheek just wont cover up it looks as if I missed that spot! @Bebe1461 I have used Protopic cream in the past. It's more effective in the face. You could try using a steroid in combination with it, and go out in the sun 10-15 minutes every other day to exposed your vitiligo to it. That's how I got some pigmentation back. Excimer is also affective, which I did until I couldn't afford it no more.

First of all, this is great for those suffering from Vit-ah-lie-go. Perhaps you should pronounce the disease correctly in the future. I am amazed that someone who has this condition and cannot pronounce the name correctly. I have suffered from this disease/skin condition since the age of 9 yrs old. I am 43 now. I chose to stop using the sticky, pancake makeup (dermablend) in my 40's and allow for the condition to take over.

As treatment I bought a UVB hand held lamp on ebay form clinic in Israel that specializes in treating vitiligo. For me it has worked. The pigmentation came back little by little in some areas, others came back quick. The results will vary but it is a cheap way to treat it at home.

It was like $200 on ebay..look it up under UVB lamp. Krayola makes all types of shades for all skin colors. Order the sample palette first so you can find your shade then order that shade #.

i have some vitiligo on my wrists. Ive tried using those creams specifically pro-topic and they havent really worked on me. My mom bought me some pills to balance out my immune system and ive been taking them for 3 weeks now and im starting to see little dots of color on the spots some of them are my skin color and some are red but its alot of improvement compared to the creams cuz the creams take forever to work. I think we just need to balance out our immune systems.

Its going okay but i talked to the doctor who gave me the pills and he says vitiligo treatments work very slow but im being patient im starting to see some small diffrences but my little sister had it all over her legs and its amazing how the vitiligo is staring to go away on her cuz he told me that it works faster on children 4 sum reason. i went to the dermatiologist and it was about 6 months ago.but i really went for excema and ihad a dry spot on the side of my nose and some of the cream by mistake got on one of the bright spots and tone the color down.I was like what the hell,so i missed the part when she said i can use it for my vitiligo.lol!!!!!,so its took like a 6 months.i hope this helps. Give me about a week to find pictures of how it look before.
