From what i understand depending on the peoepl arlready in the room changes the way you carry the sword. I think in a friendly room you carry it in your right hand blade up and tsuka facing back, if in a some what less friendly room blade up and tsuka facing forward, in a room that you feel threated or wish t show hostlity your left hand blade up and tsuka facing forward. I'm more then likely wrong seeing as how my ony sword training is from what i've read and a little very little kendo.
