Thats gotta be unnerving. such lack of safety sense when using explosives on a major project in a densely populated city. its already irritating enough to have to live with a subway being drilled and blasted in front of your business or apartment
You bunch of whiny yupps…you didn't wake up one day and then there was a hole in 2nd ave…plenty of notice....construction = noise…you'll love it when it's done and you have a subway right downstairs
I'm a non-smoker, but have lived with smokers my whole life. Smoking is more important to them then anything else...even their own personal safety or the safety of others. Probably the most powerful addictive substance known to man.
@DebateIran Getting this thing done fast??? Spare us the BS
@outofsligo put their lives on the line???? HAHAHAH maybe from massive heart attacks from all the coffee and smoke breaks. ahahah lives on the line hahahaha
@chcor70 yes they do put there lives on the line , fallin rock ,heavy equipment moving around in these tight spaces, dump trucks coming in and out ,sometimes at pace just to keep your traffic moving as i seem to recall your giving out about that aswell.so take care and dont fall over your slippers when rushing to the window to video a worker having a cigarette ,
well to think that all you seem to spend your time doing is video taping a construction site has got me thinking that you have nothing better to do with your time.another point i would like to make is that these workers put their lives on the line every day to build these caverns and subway tunnels so we can all get around the city easier ,oh and by the way i bet you wont complain when the price of the property around it goes up when all this is finished,
Some of the issues here are relevant- such as disorganized traffic flow. But catching a guy without a hard hat two feet from the street- really? Do you have nothing better to do.
The issue is getting this thing done fast. Nonsense issues are only going to slow it down.
Am i the only person that can hear the subway over the blasts in this video? sir you live in new york city, if you expected peace and quiet when you sleep you shouldnt of became a new york city resident
If this is what is happening at one site during a few days in May, then what has been going on (or will occur in the future) at other MTA construction sites?

What's going on is crazy. Why isn't someone doing something about this?

go figure.

The MTA needs to replace this contractor. Tolerating smoking? Risking lives? Not worth it.
JJprounion 7 months ago
why dont you go to the construction workers them selves and tell them this instead of making a video about this?
