i have to tell you that i'm truly impressed. i almost never like covers, let alone of an artist i'm so taken with that there are no words to describe it. however, i love your gentle approach, yet precision with with guitar picking. and to be honest, there is something very endearing about the imperfection of the viola. i just love this, thank you SO much!

@nisusCGA A viola is somehow always off-pitch. I think only Nobuku Imai (look her up) can play it pitch-perfect. It's pretty bad here, I admit.

really really really good. definitely the best nick drake cover i've heard! seriously though, in a completely constructively critical way, the viola really tarnishes it. i know it's an extremely difficult instrument, but it just doesn't sound good here... the guitar and the vocals are amazing though! very much in the spirit of nick himself...

Everyone thinks that it has to be sung behind the beat - as Nick does it, but I'd love to hear a Version of it sung - in time with the normal rythm and beat.

violin uses tones called microtones, a sound which is not created by a stationary fret, but a free fretless note. the violin is in tune, its the tiny tiny microtones that may sound offkey.

this is no matter of tuning. viola may be the hardest string instrument that exists. but i agree, it could have been better. anyway good choice to use it even if there were some flaws
