  • Another example of why roads aren't meant for bikes

  • @avatarjokumo No, it's another example of poor road maintenance.

There's no logic whatsoever in your comment.

  • Jerks in their cars not helping you out!

  • It's good to see people coming to help you out.

I would rather fall any day than be hit by a car. I witnessed someone get broadsided by a minivan a couple of years ago - he crossed a fairly major road without looking or correctly judging the speed of the cars (my guess is the cyclist was intoxicated). He flipped up over the hood and became airborne for a short while before landing hard - he ended up being okay but it was unnerving to watch.

  • Ouch! That sounded painful, I'm glad you made it out without any broken bones or worse. Having your cameras rolling definitely captures some interesting footage. As you said, anyone riding a bike should be prepared for this to happen sooner or later.

It's tough to recover when your tire gets grooved. I fell this year taking a corner too quickly on my mountain bike - I didn't see all the gravel on the road until it was too late. Grooves, gravel, and water seem to be the main culprits for me.

  • I was making same noises when I broke my back... Broken helmet is much better than broken back. ;-)

  • Was that due to the poor road surface? it look very bad!

Hope your road rash is better

  • did a car hit you?

  • @zildjianfan101 My front wheel got caught in a grove in the pavement that I did not see. It was my fault. The car did not hit me.
