  • Hello,

I am a beginner! You are an excellent instructor but I am having difficulty understanding the special progression between the G and Em. All on Low E, 3rd fret, 2nd fret, open fret???? How is this sequence being played? Thanks again!

  • Yep it is played just like that, watch the video and follow along

  • which strings are you picking? D, A, E? and on those, what chords are you holding for the part after the "G" chord? i heard you say picking "frets"? do you mean strings?

  • All low E string 3rd fret, 2nd fret, open (or notes G, F#, E)

  • great lesson picked up how to play right away

  • Thanks, glad you liked it!!!!

  • woo hoo, fell in love with this song, thank you sooo much

  • Good to hear, thanks for the comment!!!

  • When you do that special after the G which strings are you hitting and are they all open?

  • I meant the special"Strum"

  • Do you mean the muted strum??? In which case I am hitting all the strings but leaving my left hand resting on them to mute the sound.

  • thank you,i've always loved that song. you make it very easy to learn.you would make a really good teacher

  • Thanks for the comment and I hope I would make a good teacher 'cause that's what I do!!!!

  • The Elixir 12-53 strings are what they are now using as the standard when they come straight from the factory in Melbourne. They have this cool "nanoweb' coating which seems to make them last for ages whilst still keeping there sweet sound. I met the head Maton guitar maker a while back just by chance in my local music shop and he was a really cool guy. He told me he just uses one of the bottom of the range 225's when he could have any guitar he wants, to me that really says something about it.

  • Man that is easy I love the way u teach it is awsome even for someone like me.

  • Thanks glad you found it helpful!!!

  • No problem. My Maton is a EM225C (with the AP4 pickup), so it has the larger body than the ECW80C but otherwise pretty similar. Maton's in my opinion are the best guitars in the world, I love the sound and when combined with Elixir strings they are awesome!!!!

  • Very easy, thank you :D

  • And thankyou for you comment!!

  • thanks man..really help beginner like me

  • No problem at all!!!

  • nice, nice, nice..i'll practice with this song for this week..thanks James..

  • Great lesson.

  • Thankyou very much, please check out our cover of this song if you get a chance!!!

  • thanks a lot all your videos are a great help to me.

  • and thanks for making a comment

  • What note do you join to make it more interesting? :D

  • I assume you are talking about in between the G and the Em chords, the notes are in the top string 3rd Fret (G), 2nd Fret (F#), Open String (E). The first part of he change to the Em chord.

  • Thanks ;)

This is the first song I'm playing in my father's guitar.

  • No problem at all, you should also try Knockin on Heavens Door and Let It Be as they are both good beginner songs, check out my lessons on them if you have a chance.

  • Oh my gosh, let it be... I love the Beatles, I tried to play yesterday, but is way too difficult, so I'll follow your advice. :D
