The ballroom jive is truly the ugliest dance in the entire ballroom/latin curriculum. Thank God it's rapidly being superseded by altogether more attractive dances, such as Ceroc and West Coast Swing.
@Czerniakowska Jive can be a very fun and highly energetic dance. Honestly I think that although I dont prefer it most of the time it definitely does have its place
It will certainly survive but will take its place alongside the Viennese Waltz and the Paso Doble on a lower tier of the dance curriculum. I was at a modern jive/swing/blues dance last Saturday at which the overwhelming majority could, like myself, perform the ballroom jive. However, when the DJ played two numbers with a classic ballroom jive rhythm, 90% of the dancers chose to sit them out. All that kicking and hopping about just doesn't look attractive.
