I did this song at my high school talent show back around the time when reba had this song out.. and i believe teens need to know this message i recieved an overwheming amount of responses after i performed it..
i know evryone's talking about the importance of the song and everything, & i agree wholeheartedly. But i also wann point out the fact that she looks amazing in that dress. Beautiful -her the dress her hair and the song!
I think we're in agreement - it only takes once to get exposed to HIV or become pregnant or to acquire an STD or Hep C as well. My point was that a one night stand WITH safe sex is different than a one night stand without one.
I am a nurse and I can tell you that the only truly safe sex is abstinence. Condoms are no guarantee. Just because you use protection does not mean you are "safe."
I always wish they would play this song on the radio after Carrie Underwood's "Last Name" - this song shows the very REAL dangers of one night stands.
I heard this song when it first came out. I loved the melody and learned to play it. I recently was going through old sheet music, ran across this song. Started playing it, saw the words...and broke down. Rbea, yet again, was a pioneer; tackling issues that were taboo at the time. This song hits closer to home, than many may know. Thank you Reba!
i never knew this song would have so much meaning. A few years ago I met a man named John, tall, dark hair, handsome. We talked, laughed, I fell fast. To make a long story short, he didnt want a relationship, so I settled for whatever I could get. Then one day he was gone, no call, email, nothing. To this day I dont know where he is or why he left. I still cry and its been 2 years. Its hard not knowing why. I hear this song and I think, wow, I think his name was John...
I always loved this song when I was younger and now that im an adult it has more meaning than I ever thought it would. I few years ago I met a man named John at a party, dark hair, the whole dream guy. I fell hard and fast, We talked' laughed, drank, had a great time. to make along story short, he didnt want a relationship, I settled for what I could get.One day he was there and the next he was gone, no phone call, email, nothing, I dont know where he is or why he left.I still cry to this day.
criticism or not, she stood up for aids awareness, You go Reba, The hell with what people think. People wonder why this woman is so successful! I LOVE YOU REBA!!!! ALWAYS HAVE ALWAYS WILL
Amen to that! She stood up for what she knew was right and made an impact on so many! We know that she is the best there ever will be. Kudos to another HUGE Reba fan. Thanks for your positive words, Rebafan2011! Bless you
Awesome song. This was the first song I saw/heard Reba sing, she did it on Oprah. I hadn't a clue who Reba was but I remembered that song and the name of the woman who sang it for years. Thank god for the growth of the internet, now I can buy and listen to all the Reba I want. Thanks for sharing this.

One night stands don't cause AIDS - unsafe sex does. If you and your partner are not monogamous, practice safe sex.
cemeterydude 3 years ago
Yes, they can.
You said it yourself - unsafe sex. Believe it or not, not everyone practices safe sex all the time.
It only takes once.
