@daschmitta1 I was playing on high, also in beta the resolution setting was retarded, lagged a lot at high resolutions, and my monitor is 1900x1080. There are a lot of optimizations since the beta came out, so the game will obviously run better on those specs than it did before.
onlly reason the gtx260 plays as well as it does is that it's only running dx10 not dx11. If it had to run all the features of dx11 the fps would be even lower.
@Dice2BF3 Well, I do have Battlefield 3 and games very similar to it and even on high I can achieve over ~25-30 FPS. Maybe it is just the CPU, because it does have a quad core system.
@sushi064 Well I get over 60 fps with phenom 965 and 560ti. It is the fraps setting that lowered my fps. If I change some options on fraps, I still get 60fps with fraps on. Go check my other video. I am a computer technician, and my computer is built very professionally.
@viceroyliht it will do fine in low resolution. The game is still retarded with resolutions. The game lags way too much in high resolution. If you have 1.5 or 1GB version of 260, you will be good in mid-low option on high resolutions, but if you have those 892, idk.... you might wanna do lower resolution. but CPu and rams are great for it. Ironically, bf3 takes less cpu percentages than the bfbc2
@panos19933 for singleplayer, you can run the middle-high for around 35fps but in multiplayer , it depends on the network connection, but you prob have to play in low options. but your pc will have no issues with singleplayer, since it has 4gb ram and a decent gpu.
@panos19933 watch my video..!!! im uploading it soon.. my settings and optimization give a 50% to 100% framerate increase!! download these drivers from Nvidia (197.45) and SMILE!! NO KIDDING!! Spead the word 1680x1050 textures high Shadow ultra Effects high Mesh Low Terrain low Decoration high Post AA low blur off Anisotropic 8 ambient occlusion off (on if you really like the effect but lose a few fps) Vsync on
@PuffinPieProductions obviously 260 for physx will be better, but not a good idea. 260 eats up more electricity than 560ti. and ideal performance that is good for physx is about 9800gt or 9600gt. 260 is too much for physx, and you will need a decent psu with more than 800watts power.
@Dice2BF3 a 800W or better PSU for a single GTX 260 or GTX 560? Don't be silly. I'm running tri-fire (4870 X2 + 4870 1GB) with an i5-2500k @ 4Ghz on stock volts using a Antec True Power Quattro 850W PSU and run it absolutely solid. A Corsair TX 650W would be perfect for a GTX 560/GTX 260. Heck, a Corsair 550W would do perfectly fine.
@Slowshyy you are using a corsair power supplies... They have very high efficiency(+80), but not a lot of psu have high efficeincy like corsair power supplies. and if you actually calculate the psu wattage with an oscilloscope, you will be shocked. that most of psu cannot give 70% of energy and the guy is having multi gpu with gtx 260, which takes more energy than the 560ti. it is a good idea to have some extra watts for your hardware, rather than putting up to the limit.
@Dice2BF3 I know full well about PSUs not giving the full amount of ampage or wattage from my experience with computers and knowledge from years of computer experience. Using that knowledge i got myself a great PSU that does what it's supposed to do. Like i said earlier to you in my previous comment, a Corsair TX 750W (for his multi-gpu GTX 260 setup) would be fine.
@Dice2BF3 People seem to think the GTX 260 is a power hungry card, when really it isn't. My XFX 4870 X2 by itself uses more power at idle than the GTX 260 does on full load. I know what you mean when you talk about PSUs not delivering the true amount stated, but that is why i recommended the PSUs i mentioned earlier. They are great, realiable and recommended by most members on overclock(dot)net, who know what they're doing. Plus, i had a GTX 260 myself and have a very good PSU too.
@Slowshyy 4870X2 is a dual gpu card, and it does not use more power at idle when GTX 260 is in fullload.. thats a bit sarcastic, but it is always a good idea to use extra big power supplies, because you can upgrade later on, and most people end up upgrading or putting some new stuff into their pc. Ive built and fix computers for several years, and it is my little philosophy about power supplies. and I repeat, the guy is trying to use GTX560 + GTX260.
@Dice2BF3 Yes it does. I've had both myself, read many reviews and have seen the numbers. Hardly sarcastic, and even if it were i would be using it in the wrong context. GTX 560 + GTX 260 in SLI isn't possible, and even if he did want to do Dual 560s, a Corsair TX750W would be fine. I know what you mean by future proofing, but it's not all about total PSU wattage. You need very good ampage on the 12V Rails.
@Slowshyy he is triyn go use the 260 for physx. i didnt say he was gonna use for sli. and GTX 260 takes more energy than the 560. I tried 560ti + gtx 260 on 700W hec zephyr psu, it wasnt that stable. I think a decent 800W is better, than a expensive some corsair 750W psu. you know what im saying? and since you said something about the 12V rails, very few psus have a good ampage on the 12V rails, most of them uses dual, triple 12v rails to provide the power, which isnt good.
@Dice2BF3 I stand corrected then. I know myself a GTX 260 is more hungry than a GTX 560, but i am not familiar with that brand of PSU. If the inexpensive Corsair TX750W you call expensive compared to the "decent" 800W PSU, im pretty sure that means it's a pretty mediocre PSU. More expensive the PSU = the better (Brands are just as important). All good manafactured PSUs (Corsair & Antec for example) deliver great ampage no matter what the number of 12V rails.
@Slowshyy true, but people who don't know a lot about pcs might end up with buying cheap products. so i used to suggest people psu with 50 extra wattage, so they can still use it without any lack of power
@Dice2BF3 I'm running Tri-Fire (4870 X2 + 4870 1GB) on my Antec True Power Quattro PSU 850W and don't have any problems what so ever, and i got this PSU for roughly £130. Also running an i5-2500k @ 4Ghz on stock voltage as well on it, which goes to show even when everything is at full load this PSU can handle it all. Now, if my PSU can do that, a Corsair TX750W would be able to handle a GTX 560 + GTX 260 Physx setup perfectly, however a 9800GT would be more suitable for Physx.
@Slowshyy 130 pounds is a lot.... -_- dude you are running i5 4ghz on stock voltage? you might not know how that will fuck up your cpu. go learn some about electricity and how that can fuck up your cpu.
@Dice2BF3 It really isnt. £200-300 is alot. £130 for a PSU is a very good price to be at since when it comes to PSUs, money counts. How about you learn about computers and "electricity" before you start speaking complete bullshit. Raising the MHZ of a CPU will not hurt it in any way, degrade it or damage it. However, putting too much voltage through the CPU CAN harm and kill it over a long-period of time. Honestly dude, read up on stuff before you start calling people out.
@Slowshyy I think this debate is pointless. Overclocking to 4Ghz on a stock voltage isn't good. period. This is like debating a bi turbocharged mitsubishi lancer Evo is better than a lexus lfa just because it is faster. I think you are getting the shit very wrong.
@Dice2BF3 How the fuck is it dangerous on stock voltage? Being that it's on STOCK voltage, it is pretty much safe and fine. Why don't you climb down from your high horse and do some reading on overclocking computers and CPUs you idiot.
@Slowshyy Its not good for your cpu. Overclocking isn't good for your cpu's life, and you need to higher the voltage in order to support enough energy that cpu needs. But you aren't doing that, which means you won't see any significant performance increasement, and since you aren't giving the cpu what it needs (cooling, providing energy) It isn't good for your cpu. If you wanna use it like that , use it I don't care
@Dice2BF3 You are an idiot. You really, really are. The CPU itself is getting it's normal amount of voltage, even when it's overclocked. MY overclocking on MY CPU can run 4Ghz without having to raise the voltage, meaning it's 100% stable, so it could be running at 3.3Ghz stock or 4Ghz. It's not be starved of ANYTHING. My aftermarket cooler handles it fine, however i don't need more cooling since the voltage (a raise in voltage = more heat, idiot) is at STOCK.
@Slowshyy oh so you are an one of thos idiots who think low temperature means everything is fine! Do you even know why raise in voltage means more heat?? because the electricity partially gets transfered to heat. but if you are not putting enough juice, you are wasting all that clock, which means even if its running at 4Ghz, it won't be that different than 3.3Ghz. know your shits dude.
@Dice2BF3 You carry on with your mediocre Phenom CPU and i will stick with my i5-2500k with a lovely overclock at no extra cost, performing much better.
@Slowshyy I just bought a AMD zambezi cpus, pwns i5 in its ass :) and has much greater price value. It's got a guiness record too! with most overcloced cpu 8382Mhz :) eat that shit man
@Slowshyy By OC'ing your CPU to that speed, without raising voltage is going to end in a shorter lifespan of your CPU, while causing system instability. Doing that to your CPU is like putting NOS into a normal sedan. You get more power, sure, but you lack the stability that higher volts fixes. There's a reason why you canmodify the voltage of your CPU. I know that too much volts can kill your CPU, but there are just as many detrimental effects that occur when you don't provide enough juice.
@kryowing Not providing enough juice? Can't you read what i said? If i weren't getting enough juice i would have run into stability issues. However, i have not and am 100% stable. I could raise the my overclock to 5Ghz (stock voltage) and it wouldn't do a damn thing. It wouldn't damage it because, at that speed and lack of voltage, would not boot and no harm would be done. Read CPU overclock reviews for christ sake. They say it themselves that raising mhz = no damage. Raising volts=yes
@Dice2BF3 Well done for repeating what i just said. Want a gold star? You are a complete idiot and have no idea what the fuck you are talking about. Raising voltages for your CPU will damage your what? Guess what! CPU!! If you raise your voltages for your motherboard, say, northbridge, that will raise the voltage for your.. wait for it.. NORTHBRIDGE! Is this too hard for you little guy?
@Slowshyy raising your voltage damages motherboards more than damaging your cpu. why are you so stupid.. you have no idea what i was talking about. Just shut the hell up and go drink some milk, kid
@Dice2BF3 Kid? Is that all you got? You're so tuckered out and struggling so much to debate properly you've turned to childish insults. Boo hoo, little girl can play BF3. Want some candy? Honestly, if raising voltages for your cpu vcore damaged your motherboard (even though the voltage is being directly fed into the CPU) then that is one fucked up motherboard you have there. Get it right kid. You don't know shit. You keep playing that BF3, getting your ass handed to you.
@Slowshyy you were the one who called me and the other guy idiot. so you started first. I think it is waste of my time talking to yah. and why don't you go double your voltage and see which one dies first? kid :)
@Dice2BF3 I started it first? You sound like some little kid complaining to your mother because your "friend" had a fight with you. At least we're on the same page on that front, however i don't need to double any voltages because i'm 100% stable at 4.2Ghz thanks!:)
@Slowshyy you swore first :) and your cpu is not techically overclocked. it won't have lots of performance boost. since you are not making your voltage higher. you are the dumest person ever, and live it that way :) i dont care if you over clock your cpu to 4.2ghz. my i3 will do better in 4ghz, cuz i overclocked properly :)
@Dice2BF3 Dude... you know nothing, you do realize that sandy bridge is a VERY good chip that came out, when you see people pushing over 5 GHz with a little voltage increase, 4GHz on stock isn't so far out of reach, My Q9450 Went from 2.6 to 3.5 GHz on stock voltage... and its from 2008. Please learn more about the chipset mentioned before speaking.
@K1LL3R76 I wasnt saying you cant do it. Im saying without highering the voltage, just overclocking the clock won't give you a performance boost that you want.
@Dice2BF3 Yes it will, all voltage really does is add stability, sure if you're on stock and you're getting Bsods left and right and really clunky performance and prime95 is failing, then its not a good overclock, but when you get to where everything loads snappy, prime 95 passes 8 hours, and everything is smooth, then it's a good overclock, no CPU is the same, some overclock really well without voltage, some dont.
@K1LL3R76 Prime 95... All cpus are set for the best voltage and clock ratio from the factory. Even if they have no dusts at all, (in the factory) still there are performance difference. For an example, pentium laptop cpus are all the same, but they show different performance, which decides their price and clock, voltage. Techinically, it will still show you some performance boost, since the cpu is calculating faster, but without a higher voltage, you are not getting 100% performance boost.
@Dice2BF3 Yes but with voltage comes heat which many users would prefer not to deal with, that's why not many people have full blown watercooling systems anymore, you don't need them, plus there are still safety ceilings on CPU voltages to worry about so as to not deteriorate the CPU by pumping so many volts through it wearing it down.
@K1LL3R76 CPUs are designed to work at some like over 55 celcius. I don't understand when some people get littie obsessed with temperatures. I maxed my dual core up to 102 celcius, worked very nice on battlefield bad company 2. The wires inside the cpus are very physical and mechanical. They melt down at temperature of 120~130 celcius, so techincally, before those temp, your cpu should be totally fine.
@Dice2BF3 Yes, however it does DRASTICALLY shorten the life, that being said most people do change them out every 4 or so years (depending on the purpose) So it wont matter as much, but heat output can effect other components too, such as the graphics card, which you don't want to get too hot, though not a lot of people are gung ho about putting a $1200 processor to death within a few years, I sure wouldn't be.
@K1LL3R76 Thats the point, nowadays, computer gamers or even commercial users change or upgrade thier computers lke every 2 or 3 years. so It should be fine. And if 1200 dollars cpu break for some overclocking. There is something wrong with it.. Its like breaking a xeon for overclocking.. lol
@Slowshyy I see you are trying your best to prove you are right, but you aren't right. hahahahahahahaha dude I can pwn you in bf3 with using my tongue hahaha
i have a quad 2 core Q9400 2.66ghz processor, 4 ram and a nvidia gtx 260 896mb graphics. do u think i will be able to play on high smoothly. Thnx for all the answers :)
@kylenbk Most likely. your cpu is fine, ram is fine also, the only thing is your GPU. The bf3 just came out today so I really don't know, but in beta, i had to lower my resolution to play in 60fps on high. I think they fix those glitches and issues, so I think you won't have that big of a problem with 260.
thank you for the video i have a gtx 260 and was looking for a good card to upgrade to, im gonna go witht he GTX 560, if i over clock the gtx 560 non ti it gets the same clocks as the stock TI, TI just has more cores, will it make a difference you think?
@J6R92 Yes the 560 TI at stock clock will give you about a %5 increase in performance over most SOC versions of the 560 out there. But it will also cost you around %10 Extra.
@J6R92 well it will be different. because gpu is not just about the clock. a lot of people think 560ti is just an overclocked version of 560, but it is not.
You should have shown the 260's performance in the outside area rather than in the subway area. I have a GTX 260 core 216 and it is unplayable on High at 1680x1050 in the outside grassy area.. However, it is somewhat playable on Ultra in the metro area.
@sirus804 Very true. This game is somehow retarded on some parts. like, if you raise the resolution to 1920x 1080, the frame drops to more than half. Meanwhile. this issues happened during the bfbc2 beta, so i bet they will fix it soon
@pro100november on 560ti? well somehow, the fps increases alot when you lower the resolution. I don't know why, but when I decreased my resolution with GTX 260, i got about 60fps. which is almost the double fps.
@acenumbah1 I turned off all the AA,AF,HBAO ,put shadow on low, but I got about 30 with GTX 260. Thing is, the map is soooooooooooooooooooo big that it takes so much VRAM and RAM... The frame drops like a bitch sometimes

Slowshyy 2 months ago
@Slowshyy oh so you are an one of thos idiots who think low temperature means everything is fine! Do you even know why raise in voltage means more heat?? because the electricity partially gets transfered to heat. but if you are not putting enough juice, you are wasting all that clock, which means even if its running at 4Ghz, it won't be that different than 3.3Ghz. know your shits dude.
Dice2BF3 2 months ago
@Dice2BF3 You carry on with your mediocre Phenom CPU and i will stick with my i5-2500k with a lovely overclock at no extra cost, performing much better.
Slowshyy 2 months ago
@Slowshyy I just bought a AMD zambezi cpus, pwns i5 in its ass :) and has much greater price value. It's got a guiness record too! with most overcloced cpu 8382Mhz :) eat that shit man
Dice2BF3 2 months ago
@Slowshyy By OC'ing your CPU to that speed, without raising voltage is going to end in a shorter lifespan of your CPU, while causing system instability. Doing that to your CPU is like putting NOS into a normal sedan. You get more power, sure, but you lack the stability that higher volts fixes. There's a reason why you canmodify the voltage of your CPU. I know that too much volts can kill your CPU, but there are just as many detrimental effects that occur when you don't provide enough juice.
kryowing 2 months ago
@kryowing Not providing enough juice? Can't you read what i said? If i weren't getting enough juice i would have run into stability issues. However, i have not and am 100% stable. I could raise the my overclock to 5Ghz (stock voltage) and it wouldn't do a damn thing. It wouldn't damage it because, at that speed and lack of voltage, would not boot and no harm would be done. Read CPU overclock reviews for christ sake. They say it themselves that raising mhz = no damage. Raising volts=yes
Slowshyy 2 months ago
@Slowshyy oh it wouldnt boot? in 5ghz? hahahahaha yeah no shit? raising voltes damages your motherboard and powersupply more than your cpu.
Dice2BF3 2 months ago
@Dice2BF3 Well done for repeating what i just said. Want a gold star? You are a complete idiot and have no idea what the fuck you are talking about. Raising voltages for your CPU will damage your what? Guess what! CPU!! If you raise your voltages for your motherboard, say, northbridge, that will raise the voltage for your.. wait for it.. NORTHBRIDGE! Is this too hard for you little guy?
Slowshyy 2 months ago
@Slowshyy raising your voltage damages motherboards more than damaging your cpu. why are you so stupid.. you have no idea what i was talking about. Just shut the hell up and go drink some milk, kid
Dice2BF3 2 months ago
@Dice2BF3 Kid? Is that all you got? You're so tuckered out and struggling so much to debate properly you've turned to childish insults. Boo hoo, little girl can play BF3. Want some candy? Honestly, if raising voltages for your cpu vcore damaged your motherboard (even though the voltage is being directly fed into the CPU) then that is one fucked up motherboard you have there. Get it right kid. You don't know shit. You keep playing that BF3, getting your ass handed to you.
Slowshyy 2 months ago
@Slowshyy you were the one who called me and the other guy idiot. so you started first. I think it is waste of my time talking to yah. and why don't you go double your voltage and see which one dies first? kid :)
Dice2BF3 2 months ago
@Dice2BF3 I started it first? You sound like some little kid complaining to your mother because your "friend" had a fight with you. At least we're on the same page on that front, however i don't need to double any voltages because i'm 100% stable at 4.2Ghz thanks!:)
Slowshyy 2 months ago
@Slowshyy you swore first :) and your cpu is not techically overclocked. it won't have lots of performance boost. since you are not making your voltage higher. you are the dumest person ever, and live it that way :) i dont care if you over clock your cpu to 4.2ghz. my i3 will do better in 4ghz, cuz i overclocked properly :)
Dice2BF3 2 months ago
@Dice2BF3 Dude... you know nothing, you do realize that sandy bridge is a VERY good chip that came out, when you see people pushing over 5 GHz with a little voltage increase, 4GHz on stock isn't so far out of reach, My Q9450 Went from 2.6 to 3.5 GHz on stock voltage... and its from 2008. Please learn more about the chipset mentioned before speaking.
K1LL3R76 2 months ago
@K1LL3R76 I wasnt saying you cant do it. Im saying without highering the voltage, just overclocking the clock won't give you a performance boost that you want.
Dice2BF3 2 months ago
@Dice2BF3 Yes it will, all voltage really does is add stability, sure if you're on stock and you're getting Bsods left and right and really clunky performance and prime95 is failing, then its not a good overclock, but when you get to where everything loads snappy, prime 95 passes 8 hours, and everything is smooth, then it's a good overclock, no CPU is the same, some overclock really well without voltage, some dont.
K1LL3R76 2 months ago
@K1LL3R76 Prime 95... All cpus are set for the best voltage and clock ratio from the factory. Even if they have no dusts at all, (in the factory) still there are performance difference. For an example, pentium laptop cpus are all the same, but they show different performance, which decides their price and clock, voltage. Techinically, it will still show you some performance boost, since the cpu is calculating faster, but without a higher voltage, you are not getting 100% performance boost.
Dice2BF3 2 months ago
@Dice2BF3 Yes but with voltage comes heat which many users would prefer not to deal with, that's why not many people have full blown watercooling systems anymore, you don't need them, plus there are still safety ceilings on CPU voltages to worry about so as to not deteriorate the CPU by pumping so many volts through it wearing it down.
K1LL3R76 2 months ago
@K1LL3R76 CPUs are designed to work at some like over 55 celcius. I don't understand when some people get littie obsessed with temperatures. I maxed my dual core up to 102 celcius, worked very nice on battlefield bad company 2. The wires inside the cpus are very physical and mechanical. They melt down at temperature of 120~130 celcius, so techincally, before those temp, your cpu should be totally fine.
Dice2BF3 2 months ago
@Dice2BF3 Yes, however it does DRASTICALLY shorten the life, that being said most people do change them out every 4 or so years (depending on the purpose) So it wont matter as much, but heat output can effect other components too, such as the graphics card, which you don't want to get too hot, though not a lot of people are gung ho about putting a $1200 processor to death within a few years, I sure wouldn't be.
K1LL3R76 2 months ago
@K1LL3R76 Thats the point, nowadays, computer gamers or even commercial users change or upgrade thier computers lke every 2 or 3 years. so It should be fine. And if 1200 dollars cpu break for some overclocking. There is something wrong with it.. Its like breaking a xeon for overclocking.. lol

@Dice2BF3 Tell that to anandtech was it? with their QX9650 a few years ago haha
K1LL3R76 2 months ago
@K1LL3R76 whaaa?
Dice2BF3 2 months ago
@Dice2BF3 They had the VTT up to the level where it ended the QX9650 real quick, like in a day of testing it killed it.
K1LL3R76 2 months ago
@K1LL3R76 haha lol

Thnx for all the answers :)
kylenbk 4 months ago
@kylenbk Most likely. your cpu is fine, ram is fine also, the only thing is your GPU. The bf3 just came out today so I really don't know, but in beta, i had to lower my resolution to play in 60fps on high. I think they fix those glitches and issues, so I think you won't have that big of a problem with 260.
Dice2BF3 4 months ago
@Dice2BF3 Thnx for the response, great video btw :)

Great Vid.

@shtiken thx
Dice2BF3 4 months ago
thank you for the video i have a gtx 260 and was looking for a good card to upgrade to, im gonna go witht he GTX 560, if i over clock the gtx 560 non ti it gets the same clocks as the stock TI, TI just has more cores, will it make a difference you think?
J6R92 4 months ago
@J6R92 Yes the 560 TI at stock clock will give you about a %5 increase in performance over most SOC versions of the 560 out there. But it will also cost you around %10 Extra.
shtiken 4 months ago
@J6R92 well it will be different. because gpu is not just about the clock. a lot of people think 560ti is just an overclocked version of 560, but it is not.
Dice2BF3 4 months ago
@J6R92 hey man or you can get a 6870 4 cheap runs on high 40/80
xBENZBOYx 4 months ago
You should have shown the 260's performance in the outside area rather than in the subway area. I have a GTX 260 core 216 and it is unplayable on High at 1680x1050 in the outside grassy area.. However, it is somewhat playable on Ultra in the metro area.
sirus804 4 months ago
@sirus804 Very true. This game is somehow retarded on some parts. like, if you raise the resolution to 1920x 1080, the frame drops to more than half. Meanwhile. this issues happened during the bfbc2 beta, so i bet they will fix it soon
Dice2BF3 4 months ago
@pro100november on 560ti? well somehow, the fps increases alot when you lower the resolution. I don't know why, but when I decreased my resolution with GTX 260, i got about 60fps. which is almost the double fps.
Dice2BF3 4 months ago
@Dice2BF3 Im guessing because the gtx 260 ( i own the card and its starting to anoyy me :( ) has a very low amount of VRAM :/
acenumbah1 4 months ago
@acenumbah1 yeah i Just ordered a 560ti. I havent got it yet but 260 is kinda unplayable..
Dice2BF3 4 months ago
@Dice2BF3 Depends, i mean you cant expect to play on full graphics ^^
acenumbah1 4 months ago
@acenumbah1 I turned off all the AA,AF,HBAO ,put shadow on low, but I got about 30 with GTX 260. Thing is, the map is soooooooooooooooooooo big that it takes so much VRAM and RAM... The frame drops like a bitch sometimes
Dice2BF3 4 months ago
@pro100november I really dont know what you are asking ahahaaj
