I remember when Chuck Lidell fought Keith Jardine. Lidell's purse was over a million, and they gave Jardine (who beat the shit out of Lidell) just $35k. Dana was pressed on this by a reporter after they'd released pay figures, and he had no justification. How the hell would showing this information hurt the fighters? This is to do with stopping everyone from realising how much some fighters are getting ripped off, where Dana/UFC can profit from fighter's with little bargaining power.

These numbers aren't solid but they're correct in terms of a ballpark.

Some guys make more, some guys make less but this is the average.

i.e. Brock Lesnar made 400,000 for his shit-tastic performance at UFC 141.

Some of the fighters get as little as 5k for a fight. Imagine trying to live on 15k per year and that's if you stay healthy. Yeah some guys make a six figure sum per fight, but they're few and far between. Zuffa makes hundreds of millions per year. Yet they pay the majority of the fighters less than minimum wage.

I was at first a believer in the conspiracy HOWEVER, after the UFC decided several months ago to publish the fighter salaries and gate reciepts, A fighter still makes less than a boxer or nfl player. Than you take into consideration the fight bonuses for tko, sub or FOTN, often 50G-70G. Than take into consideration the amount of prefight and afterfight medical care, the sponsors paying the fighters for advertisment and product placement AND if you are a top teir fighter, a PPV cut. Millions!!!
