I wouldn't say that the media are always parroting official statements made by politicians. It's often the other way round. For example, shortly before a summit or press conference is held, the media will often cover the subject with some anecdotal stories, throw in some radical claims (without citing anyone accountable), and then when the officials step up to the microphones, the public is already conditioned. It's a more subtle form of propaganda than in a dictatorship.

The quoted text is a generalization; the "just about" being the escape phrase. But if you recall the media frenzy about Iraq's non-existent weapons of mass destruction, the point is valid. The largely (please note the qualifier) Zionist owned or controlled media backed the politicians' lies, almost (another qualifier) to the hilt, and Iraq was invaded. The mainstream media deserves to take a lot of the blame for that, as it should if an attack on Iran is publicly supported.
