  • It would have been hot if Whitney could have live long enough to do this song.

  • I was visiting my aunt and uncle and cousins in NY when on Saturday I happened to be watching a dance program which featured Cissy singing this song back in 1978. I fell in love with this song and was glad to see her too since it was years I've seen her on TV.

  • Saw Cissy Houston in TAKING MY TURN in NYC. I went to see my friend, Victor Griffin the the show but Cissy Houston touched my heart. I am thinking of her today and today she is in my heart again and with her grand daughter...Bobbi Kristina. Sad beyond words at their loss. Love surrounds you both... Thank you for the music that will live on....xoxox

  • All my love Sissy, I have always been a fan of your music! Trust in God, there are not words.

    A Loving Fan, Ric

  • A fierce record. Devastated about your daughter's death. My heart goes out to you, Cissy.

  • Always loved this song. Such a waste for her daughter to die. Rest in peace, Whitney.

  • One of the best records of classic disco. Thank-you for posting.

  • Major hit at Oil Can Harry's in Studio Ciy and Studio One in West Hollywood. The disco 70's were an amazing time for the greatest dance music ever, and this song is one of the best that came out of that time.

  • All time winner disco hit, Super upload, thanks humpycub, nice vid...right to the favorite cart

  • What a great disco hit. I actually danced to this one back in the day (and still could, maybe even better). Lots of good memories.

  • Now we know what Whitney will soon sound like; Cissy was in her 40's when she sang this song and her voice was beginning to creak, crack, and crickle, and Whitney's is too. Same happened to Dionne as she got older. Whitney's voice will also deepen very quickly as did Cissy's and she could no longer control it or hit those high notes or soprano falsettos. We'll see.

    Garry

  • @garrybcoston unfortunately Whitney has allegedly had her adventures with mysterious white powders. They certainly haven't helped things. It is entirely with proper training to keep voice up to later life.

  • Cissy is old now, and she can't sing the way she did back in the day when I was thumping the disco floors, she still sounds good, and that is where Whitney got her pipes from. When I listen to Cissy now, and remember how she sounded on the disco recordings it makes me sad, but she still sounds great! Her voice is betraying her, she is in her 70's, but she is still the monarch of music in her family.

    Garry

  • @garrybcoston you should not be sad her voice is fine, I was in her house in vegas and she sang this record for us and sounded even better than ever watch ya self and look down be easy

  • LOVED THIS SONG!

  • Great Music and Vocals!

  • Solid orchestra on this - co-written, arranged and conducted by Michael Zager (Let's All Chant). His influence and style really stand out in this song.

  • That same Michael Zager also produced daughter Whitney's first vocals that same year (1978)- Life's A Party (With Cissy also on background vocals there).

  • cool song

  • I want Whitney to go in studio and do this song over. Her mother would be so so proud. Next album I want this song on her CD. I also want Nippy to sing Phyllis You Know How to Love Me. I wish I could tell Arista these ideas. I bet Whitney herself would love it.

  • Has anyone heard her version of the song from the broadway musical, ANNIE? It's titled Tomorrow. I heard in on a 45 and it is great.

  • woww great!!!!

  • She sang with Elvis em 1969, as backing vocal!

  • Man, there was something about that time frame: Grace's Do or Die, Sinnerman by Sarah Dash, Street Life by the Crusaders, Disco Heat by Sylvester and the Tons; if I am not mistaken Chaka Khan did I'm Every Woman then. I know everyone has their favorites, but these are what I remember from that time, Think It Over, particularly.

  • I've never heard her!! Wow she's good!! Amazing song!

Just found out about her reading Whitney's biography.

  • Yeah and her niece is Dionne Warwick. It really runs in the family.

  • great !

  • is the lp version. the 12" was 6min.

  • always loved this song

  • Surprisingly great, but a 1:20 intro is amazing.

  • U should hear the 2minlove shadow intro to deborah washington's standing in the shadows of love.enjoy..................

  • Jennifer Holiday did a house version which was very true to the original disco version.

  • YAY! That's a bloody hard act to follow! ;-) Many thanks, humpycub. :-) XX

  • cissy may have had this only big hit. however, unlike her daughter she lives on as a lady of class, not a train wreck like whitney. what a waste of beauty, and talent.

  • one of my favorite songs ever! along with band of gold, ans don't leave me this way. this was all a gay teen in the 70's had to relate to. thank you ladies!

  • The record itself is collectable for the WTC.

  • Another Great classic disco song. I love it

    thank you posting it

  • "Think It Over" by Cissy Houston and "Don't Leave Me This Way" by Thelma Houston are double dynamite. Two powerful songs by two wonderful and talented singers. Thanks for this post and thanks to the Houston family for some great music.

  • Both awesome songs to be sure, but they are no relation. Thelma Houston is a pseudonym, Cissy is a real Houston (by marriage), and of course Whitney is a Houston being Miss Cissy's daughter.

  • Werk Miss Cissy!

  • It's rar hard to get classics like this that make me so thankful for youtube.

  • This was a HUGE hit in NYC in 1978! ...

Long before we ever heard of Whitney in East Orange, NJ.

  • This is a fantastic song which should have been a #1 in the late 70's!!! Thank you, Humpycub!

  • Don't know what baz1000 is on about - just want to thank humpycub - been looking here for this 12" version for ages. Thanks a lot !

  • That CRAZY MJB FAN has just created a new user name - "HereForver"

Beware it has just RE- POSTED that counterfeit fraudulent lying vid of whitney in torrino..Ban him/her/it now before he has chance to breath his wicked scorn on Whitney's name. Get this username banned NOW!!
