  • there's no 2h4 it's just played normally

  • dude change my mind its pretty awesome

    WILLEY420A

  • learn to play it right before you teach it, it may be the notes, but you don't feel it at all

  • this guy is playing for himself he doesn´t play and explain slow he just want to show up

  • @distortionCAST he took eight minutes for less than 2 minutes of easy playing.. thats fucking slow

  • your a great teacher but you look like a ground hog.

  • he"s pretty good but kinda sketchy

  • @guitarmanreynolds Yeah, totally sketchy. Plays like a bitch hahahahaha

  • Your red shirt is to small for your pants!

  • geil wusste gar nicht das es jam track umsonst auf youtube gibt

  • im just happy he didn't show tabs. tabs are just cheating! the best way to learn is my ear, the next best way is to see someone else. tabs are the worst by far.

    thank you matt brown ♪♫♪♫♫

  • @7EyeMongoose dude learning is learning. I guess people who can read music are cheating too. Everybody is different. If you can learn by ear that is great. Some people can't. I can play by ear but if I am learning a new song to play with my band in a couple of days I am not going to waste time learning by ear I will break out the tabs. Then if I have time I like to use my ear.

  • fail

  • The most boring idiot lesson ive ever watch...

  • check out my under the bridge cover :D i need some feedback from CP fans!!

  • Hey man, this is a very cool lesson! ive just created some beginner courses that you might want to check out on my channel. Its the Hub of a new website >> RexPearson. com << would love for you to check it out and let me know what you think

  • K, why can't I find any how-to video on youtube for the verse of this song? I don't care about the intro, I just want to know the verse part!!

  • @driftingfreek : i agree with u

  • @driftingfreek you should check the vid with frusciante... he plays every part of the song

  • What is around your neck?

  • Hi Matt, Back again after a few years. Got a new guitar at an auction and I'm back at it. I paid 90 bucks for this one. Thanks for your help, I'm having a great time. This guitar is lots better. I'll have no problem getting my moneys worth.

  • Epic!!! going over UNDER the bridge :)

  • dude srry i cant learn from you. i think Marty Schwartz is better at explaining

  • @jcIsInURHouse Be sure to check out Justin Sandercore too, he's awesome. He explains stuff a lot better than Marty, who I also like.

  • @MusicalRelease yeh but i learnt under the bridge of justin and he raught it completely wrong whe i typed in covers of under the bridge and every1 played it completely different

  • Your amp has way to much bass.

  • THAT D CHORD IS A BITCH !! OUCH !

  • Nice necklace, bud.

  • sorry man learned faster from tabs its not that you dont teach well its that well the lesson was not that interesting to me 100 times easier learning by tabs

  • Very good I like it, compliment !

  • watch,dont fish and drive!

  • Hmm. Today I think I`ll learn Under the Bridge. Good call.

Shall I a: Learn the wrong way from this chimp Matt Brown or b: Learn It the correct way from Mr John Frusciante in his 10.33 lesson. Its just over there look, to the right with the heading, Under the Bridge by John Frusciante - Guitar Lesson.

My guess is nobody gets past 1:22s of this video. If you`re going to put something on Youtube and use the word "teaches", make sure you teaches it right.

  • It's not quite right. The intro does feature hybrid piking which you aren't doing, where Frusciante first hits the D in octaves (x 5 x x 3 x), and then when he plays the F# part of the intro, he starts with hybrid picking F# and C# (2 x x x 2 x). A 'power chord' is only ever a 5th chord, sometimes having the octave of the root on top (and in metal, often an octave of the 5th, too). If it's a root and a major third, it's a major chord. Just because it's not a triad doesn't change that fact.

  • alright people this is a song & lesson not meant for beginer guiatr players. by the time u should watch this vid u have reached a point in ur skill level were u can learn a song with out an insane amount of detailed descriptions

  • are you teaching how to play the guitar or is the guitar teaching you???? you freakin' suck dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • check out my version of this song!

    /watch?v=m6hvCaKVEpo

  • I've learned the intro but I miss a video about the second part of the song :(

  • hi check out my version of the song...

i´m german but you´ll understand nearly everything by watchin´...i promise;)

  • "Hi im Matt Brown and Ill be going over under the Bridge." Lol

  • not such a good lesson but efficient though

  • IF you want to play it like John Frusciante use your finger and thumb for the intro.

  • This guy is obviousley an asshole and doesn't know how to explain things

  • capo on 2nd fret helps alot

  • @macguitar3 thats for pussies

  • @squirebullet1 Or perhaps people who are too cheap to spend $2-$5 on a rather enjoyable experimental accesory. Capos are actually kinda fun, although I don't use them ALL of the time.

  • @TheTyguy2009 whatever

  • you fucking dont know how to explain

  • i cant learn this every time he says pinky i laghth 2 much lol

  • lol those are some huge bricks

  • i cant do that chord,, my pinky is too tiny and weak >:-O

  • @SatanSeraphim Keep practicing it, it's a brilliant chord to strengthen your pinky :) Don't worry about it, just keep trying :)

  • you are really unclear as to the scale movement with the left hand the last two notes are amiss

  • you are really unclear as to the scale movement with the left hand the last two notes are amiss

  • Jimi page has small hands, and I think he turned out all right.

  • I do it with my Piinkyy.

  • your guitar is shit, i hate this colour!

  • Matt Brown is the most boring name on the planet.

  • @666olivierhell

says the little faggot who thinks it makes him more "metal" to have "666" and "hell" in his name.

go put your sisters make up on CUNT.

  • @screamonightmares so I cant be an Iron Maiden fan when i make my account name? and this video sucks

  • Did u use to play in KISS?

  • bulshit I already knew the intro, I wanna know the chords for the verses! I can play the song already but I play it in different positions, sounds pretty much the same but I wanna play it just like Frusciante

  • Thanks for this man, very helpful.

  • i hate you your so unlikeable

  • its ur pesonal feeling sucker... keep it to ur self... avoid hurting people....

  • A lot of help! Fine tuned everything I had questions with, thank you!!!

  • this guy looks like tom from even stevens

  • VERY GOOD LESSON!!!! THANKS HOMIE G

  • thx dude helped with that just i dont feel like u explained that part after the f sharp part fully to me but the rest was great...

  • very helpful. Thanks for sharing

  • play all song you teacher, intro its easy every beginer can play from ear it.

  • Not that you don't sound good.... its just that, when playing that song your using a strat? This song is played on a Jaguar.... strats just have 3 singles.... Jaguars have humbuckers. Try playing it with a Jaguar. In the video of this song the Red Hot Chilli Peppers guitarist is playing a greenish blue like turquise Jaguar i think..... So play it on a Jaguar, because it is played on a Jaguar not a Stratocaster. That just makes absolutely no sense! lol =)

  • @thejakeludwig it doesnt matter gah youtubers are so picky!

  • @thejakeludwig Ok....so (for example) if i know like 25 songs, I have to buy each guitar, right down to the color, that matches the one played in the music video? Ya see how stupid that sounds? Why does it matter that you have the same guitar that is played in the song? I know Under the Bridge, so i guess ill have to go and buy a VINTAGE 1960's era Fender Jag just like Frusciante's! and I also know Stairway to Heaven, so I better get a Gibson EDS1275. Genius.

  • @Shambles940 OK, prehaps you misunderstood me. What I ment was, You don't have to have their same exact guitar. It just helps to have one like theirs. It looks better also. For example, You don't see Jimmy Page playing a stratocaster or a telecaster especially, on any of his songs. He plays a Gibson Les Paul. So I mean that the type of guitar you play makes a HUGE difference in the sound you get, some may think not, but it does! Although cheaper brand gibsons will work, such as Epiphone LPs. =)

  • @thejakeludwig It helps a bit, but not alot. Its really hard to emulate the exact tone, so the only benefit to having the same guitar is just to look cool. And Page played a Telecaster for the whole first Zeppelin album and the solo to Stairway. Look it up.

  • @Shambles940 Jimmy Page from Zeppelin didn't play fender guitars

  • @thejakeludwig Yeah! He did! He recorded with a 50's Telecaster

  • @thejakeludwig Jimmy Page played a telecaster with the yardbirds

  • @thejakeludwig Wrong!

  • @thejakeludwig Jimi Page also uses Telecaster, Strat and Danelectro. Just thought i would let you know.

  • @thejakeludwig dude it doesnt matter what guitar you play on but on the john frusciante guitar lesson of this song he does use a stratocaster ..... so think before you write

  • Man you just showed me the right way to play a section of that intro that's been bugging me for a long time.... and its easier to play than what I was playing!!!! Thanks dude, video was very helpful, informative, and easy to follow

  • thank you , it is a good demonstration but picking introduction with fingers is better , believe me

  • I suspect Frusciante was heavily influenced by the BeeGees; chord structure of the D in this chord (barred open C shape) is so prevelant in BeeGees tunes (Be tender with my love, More than a woman, etc.) Practice up those songs, learn how to play Major 7th chords and this stuff will come easy.

  • I just listen to the tones and searched for them. Eventually i found them and now i can play it 2 ^^ But he DID could say the freds and strings.

  • Not a very good teacher for beginners. Missed naming a lot of frets and strings but a learned guitarist could learn from this.

    Good job 4*

  • yay good vid

  • probably because you can't play guitar worth a shit.

Thanks for the video, very helpful

  • god you cant explain worth a shit

  • @evans077

    LOL, thanks I needed that!

  • terrible explanation on the link

  • why isn't there a link to the next part?

  • mediocre at best

  • Frusciante doesn`t play it like that. It´s good though

  • you know I thought you was right because I made I different way of playing but I was actually able to see what he was playing so you actually wrong. he does play that way

  • lo estas tocando como una monja,
