For starters is either car modified? If so, how? I have an A3 and a simple ECU flash totally changes the character of the car.

I assume that the video was made in France, where there are about a dozen engine and transmission configurations for the A3. Which one is this?

From a guy who's owned both. You can feel & hear the build quality difference betweeen these cars. Honda civic is louder, you can hardly hear the Audi. Which in my case, I rather the louder CIVIC. Sounds great

for the interior, and luxury i like the A3 better but for overall performance i will take the ep3.. k20A is more powerful then 1.8T, if this was a circus race u wont see the ep3 tail light for sure.. (i got a A3 btw, tried out the ep3 n FN2R) if for everyday driving i will take the A3 but if going for cruise or race i will stick with the ep3.. type R is build for race ^^ A3 is too smooth to drive hardcore (gear is way too long for each shifting) good to drive on normal street

I have owned both a civic oldschool 1.6, honda civic type R 2005, and an audi A3 and I have to say while the type R was more fun to drive the A3 is just so much better, sounds much nicer, more comfortable and the speed difference when you really put your foot down is very close (we are talking only a couple of horse powers here anyway) the only reason the type r is slightly faster is because its slightly lighter and doesnt have the build quality of the audi. Its fact people. I love both though!

I not sure u guys see it... So call a TypeR? Driver seat it juz a normal civic seat not a sport seat. So is it true TypeR tat vs A3? Two days back I met a A3, tat car was fast but too bad it power lose to mine.... A civic TypeR FD2 I driving. Sorry to mention tat. Eventually we need to see each car mod n skill of the driver too. ^^

sweetearthslug not being funny but you dont know jack m8 my a3 is 235bhp and bye bye type r the maximum out of a tyrp r is 204bhp thats with your remap n s2000 throttle body n injectors and ive made loads of them type r look silly. the only next step for you type r lovers is a super charger witch will make is 285bhp sumert like that

Are you talking wheel or crank hp?

Mine is only at stage 2+ (remap, 3" downpipe and upgraded fuel pump) and I'm at 275Bhp, or 230Whp with 275 wheel torque... Last I looked a stage 3 will get you about 325Whp, but that's a bit rich for my taste.

You can just tell that while that Type R is revving its guts out at 8000+ rpm the Audi is only a step behind cruising at a leisurely 4000 rpm. A simple remap of the Audi and it's goodbye Civic Type R.

I remapped my 2005 2.0TDI audi a3. it was 138bhp and it's now 195bhp. it feels like a completely different car so much torque too, its stupidly fast! always buy turbo diesels guys....you can make them insane!!
