i have a 1988 chevy caprice classic bro, i have the original 700 trans in it, its like when my engine is cool my gear shifts good dont drag shift like it pose to but as it start to warm up it starts to drag in like 3rd or 4th gear i been trying to figure out is it the trans before i spend money on another one
Hi Buddy, I have a 93 ford Truck E-350 1 Ton Econoline - Van and something happened with the transmission (automatic), full fluid level its OK but when into 1 and 2 .... the truck runs good but for 3rd and 4th the RPMs go up and up (foot on gas accelerating), but the truck doesn't speed up .... i'm stuck on 1st and 2nd...
@jblions95 It should have one on there. Not sure if it's a new to you truck and the previous owner may have removed it. If it has the 700R4 transmission this video will show you where it's located.
@morris51772 Automatic transmissions are a pretty intricate thing. It could be that the cable needs to be adjusted, or even the fluid may have to be changed if it's dark.
Awesome. Extremely helpful. I thought mine was just out of adjustment, turns out it was bad. Simple fix and got my transmission working properly again. Thank you for this video.
Awesome video! Just what I was looking for. I have to replace the kick down on my 85 El Camino and this definitely explains why I have no passing gear. My cable is frayed as well. Aloha!

@DEEBOYYUNG20 You could try to change the filter and add some new fluid in if you haven't already.

-Solenoid problem ?
-Should I reset by disconnecting battery ?
-No OD light flashes in dashboard.
-No ''CHECK ENGINE'' light.
Thanks for any help ...

@djlaiguana1 You may want to have a transmission shop take a look at it. It could be a worn over drive band, or a TV cable that needs to be adjusted.

Hi I have a 91 suburban having the same symptoms..... The late shifting... What happens? Does it break and get stuck in the cable sleeve?
dustinstube1 2 months ago
@dustinstube1 Sometimes they can break or even stretch over time causing late shifting symptoms.

@Greenmonoluche It the truck came with one, then it should be on there. This is what helps the transmission to shift properly.
