Hi Guyz.. E-GeForce FX 5500 Video Card is nice in online games but if you are a Monster Gamer.. you must try this one.. Killer™ Xeno™ Pro Gamming Network Card
I have this one.. called Killer™ Xeno™ Pro Gamming Network Card...
its better for online game performance, more control, and more intelligence out of your Xeno™
Yeah laugh all you want, but I have that same exact card in an older desktop that replaced the crappy S3/VIA integrated video and it ran games from around 2005 and older pretty good, plus it frees up the RAM the integrated video was taking up. Good for older AGP systems from earlier in the decade.
@supladz you call that suffering? you should be happy! i had an geforce 4 mx440 1 week ago it had no pixel shaders or vertex shaders im very happy whit fx5500
@ZeroSixNinetyFour yes it is a god damn terrible graphics card and was UNDERPOWERED even at its TIME... Pretty pathetic that I had to deal with this card a couple years.
@BigThangsPoppinMayne is that even a joke? you have money for an i7, 8gb of ram, 1000 psu(which is overkill according to your setup) and you only have a 5500? i just wish your joking because if not, your an idiot.....
@massmurderer02 aww :( lol yea and i got the 1000 psu only cuz i can.....well this card runs every game i've played very smooth so im not complaining right now. i'll get a better card this summer.
meh, it's cheap. i bought it for like 50 bucks 2 years ago , and it's... mmm...i can't say i found any games that worked best on it. it made Warcraft 3 load faster. DoW 1 lagged on higher settings. couldn't support all the funky effects in Project Snowblind and Civ 4. but Civ 4 lags even with more powerful cards, so screw Python codes. i mostly play old games with it, and old games don't care about direct x. yes, it is quiet. but my version didn't have a fan, just a heatsink.
The FX 5500 wasn't THAT bad, I was still gaming on it till 2005, playing games like Doom 3, Halo PC, Counter Strike Source, GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas. It was definitely the best $35 purchase I ever made, over 3 years of fun it brought me.
@bobbytomorow That it did, but just because it was out-performed doesn't mean that its performance was insufficient for HAVING FUN. Because I didn't have much money back then and I was new to PC gaming, I didn't particularly care to have games maxed at 1600x1200 with AA, etc. I could run almost any game of the day at 1024x768 with medium to high settings, and that's all i could ask for out of a sub $40 gfx that i got as an afterthought from the local wal-mart.
I bought my first PC (a packard Bell 6052 ) in November 2003 and bought a GeForce 5500 for it. I've still got it and run it sometimes when my higher spec PC breaks down. The 6052 + 5500 GPU is an ultra reliable machine and very quiet and has never given me a single problem.
@farid6188 Wow, I didn't mean it that way, dumb shit. Why are you comparing an entry-level three year old card to today's most high-end cards? That show us how stupid you really are. Now go troll somewhere else please, troll.
@farid6188 Sorry baby! I didn't mean to make you cry! Idiot. Respect the card for what it is. Is it because people don't respect you for who you are baby?
@farid6188 I had a Nvidia 5500, it broke down on me after 3 years, it is so much faster than my overclocked Radeon 5770. The 5500 played everything I ran at it, all at blazing fast speeds. Where as the 5770 seems to eat games and spit them out as garbage.
Also, the integrated Nvidia 6200 is faster than a 5970, just look at the numbers~
@vangstaz You obviously don't either, and it's a laugh to see someone call another person "boy" in that way. So you must be a parent then, have a job, your own house/apartment?
You can't understand what I say, and obviously I have to type /sarcasm at the end of my comments so you can. High-end video cards:
Nvidia: 5900, 6800, 7900, 8800, 9800, 295, 480.
They were high-end cards, their still classed as high-end.
a 5500=low end.
I wasn't talking age, no matter what a high end is still high.
@silenceyouidiot So you're saying that this card is shit just because it's not meant for gaming? That's your opinion dude. Sorry. This card was great for most people who were looking into business but it certainly was NOT meant to compete with the higher-end cards.
I'm not trying to "act cool." As a matter of fact, you believe that entry level cards are shit. I say that if a card gets you from A to B, it's GOOD. A bad card is when it's dead moron. Does the FX 5500 work? To hell it works.
@vangstaz It does work, but it overheated as well quite easily. Of course that problem stayed until the 7000 series. High end cards are meant to last, their supposed to be able to play games for a few years, even if it's not at max settings, where as a low end card can hardly play games on medium at the current time the card is released.
@silenceyouidiot Overheating? That goes the same to high-end cards as well dude. I have a used FX 5200 sitting in a box right now and I never had any overheating problems with it even when playing NFS Most Wanted for hours. To my PNY GeForce 9800GT? That thing does 75C on idle and up to 116C on load right after I unboxed it. It doesn't matter if the card is high-end or not. It depends on the quality of the card: GPU cooler, the cores architecture, case ventilation, and more.
@vangstaz Yes, but a non gaming card that can overheat easily when not gaming isn't the best card to pick. Back at the time this card was released, most people didn't go for 2-3 fans on their pc.
@silenceyouidiot Oh and just to let you know, respect computer components to what they are. This card was not meant to play games but I respect it for a fact that I can still get my work done with it. You wouldn't want people to disrespect you just because you weren't "born" to be superman, yes???
@vangstaz You're obviously using it right now, huh? What did you do with the card after replacing it? You originally were complaining about people saying their high end can beat this low end from 3 years ago. That you were going to laugh at high end cards in 3 years, comparing this to a high end card like it was for gaming back then. I argued about that, low end is low end, keep it that way. Their not for gaming, their SHIT at gaming , where a 5900 can still play games from last year.
@silenceyouidiot I had a card WORST than the FX 5500 and I don't complain, DO I? I'm using the RADEON HD 4850, which is indeed one of the fastest 4000 series cards from ATI. Yes, you can say that entry-level cards are shit at gaming, BUT most people are not gamers. Hence, I said "entry-level" cards. Do you understand what that means or do I have to define it in detail for you? It's like comparing cars. Does it run? Yes. And you can laugh at my HD 4850, go ahead. But remember it's 2 years old.
@vangstaz What's wrong with the 4850? It's a high end card, you don't seem to get that I'm not arguing about how high end cards aren't good at gaming. I don't understand the need for it if you said you had a 9800 though.
You forgot what you said? You we're the one talking about laughing at outdated "high end" cards, while I was talking about why "low end" cards arent good at gaming, and why this video doesn't help anyone since it was a high priced low end card at the time.
@silenceyouidiot You guys are laughing at an entry-level card that's more than 3 years old while comparing it to today's top cards. Now THAT'S when I say I'll laugh at today's high-end cards in another 3 years when the next generation comes out. You know why? Because I'm playing ignorant just like you guys are. But in reality I will never say that a graphics card sucks, same goes to other components. When should I say that? When another idiot says it to me.
@silenceyouidiot The 9800GT was a fantastic card. It ran all of the older games at the maximum possible settings in 1080p and some of the newer games at decent settings without sacrificing too much performance. But the card had served it's purpose, just like my FX 5200. I believed I could do better by getting a card that was closer to the performance of a 9800GTX, and that's where the HD 4850 came in. Plus, the HD 4850 ran 40C cooler than the 9800GT at both idle and load.
There's nothing wrong with a card like this. This card IS NOT BUILT FOR HIGH-END GAMING like many of you idiots are saying.
"Oh that card sucks, eat my GTX 480"
Shut the fuck up already. Hence, date and model number. If you idiots who think you guys are so smart, go to school and learn how to read and compare because you guys know NOTHING about computers because of your ignorance.
-
I will be the first to laugh at your GTX 480 and HD 5970 in another 3 years, watch.
@vangstaz The 480 and 5970 isn't a low entry card. You already failed to make your point by saying "NOT BUILT FOR HIGH-END GAMING" when both of those cards are.
Nobody is laughing at the 5900 ultra, in fact it was a great card at the time and still can play games from 2007-2008.
@silenceyouidiot Are you fucking stupid? I clearly said that the FX 5500 ISN'T HIGH-END. I never said that the GTX 480 or the HD 5970 were low-end... well in another three years then yes. You guys can't seem to compare graphics cards because all I hear and see are dumb asses comparing low-end older generation cards to modern high-end cards which make absolutely no fucking sense what so ever. You guys are smart. *sarcasm
@vangstaz Obviously you are one to call people names and try to act, "cool."
The 5500 is a low entry card, which is why it is considered shit, even when it first came out. A 480 and a 5970 are high end graphic cards, which were meant for gaming. The 5500 was never meant for gaming, so you are telling me you hate everyone for laughing at a non-gaming card for those who want to play games, but you would laugh at a high-end gaming card later? I said nobodies laughing at the Nvidia 5900 even today.
Mhhh, I got this card nearly 6 years ago, I loved it cause I could play call of duty, lego starwars, and what not. Tried to play half life 2, managed to play it on med settings at 1280x1024...which wasn't bad at the time. I lagged in doom 3 even at low though D:
Upgraded to an integrated 4200, and it was nearly x5 better.
guys i have an hp pavilion a706n year 2004 nd i have 64mb of intregratged video memory nd i wanted to know if i should get this i want to play games lyk runes of magic on high can i do tht with this card
@notraxz trust me there are cards that alot horrible than the fx 5500. I had 440 mx , radeon 7000(or something) and fx 5500.The 440 mx just truely sux **s.
wtf! *ROFL*! your so genius man im really proud of you now tell everyone about that with a smile im sure everyone will be happy to know that from you xD
.... Why the DVI? its not like it gonna run crysis in a 1900X1200 resolution! Its only if you have a really old computer and want it to speed it up like to run CS 1.6 or something... and this video its from 2007. Why?
I have the same card, and I have a problem, if someone can help me. I tried to install the latest drivers available for it which is 175.19 WHQL. The problems is that after I install and restart the computer, it won't run. Like I didn't installed any drivers in the first place, I have to revert to the latest driver 169.21, that works for me.
What is the problem? On the nvidia site it says that fx5500 is supported.
damn AGP slots and their varying voltages. why couldn't they just wait for PCI-e. AGP cards are much cheaper now, because of their confusing standards. an old PCI card can cost twice as much as AGP card with a similar speed.
this video card is awsome ive got it. everyone says its sucks well grow up! Most of u are americans anyway. which most of americans talk and comment like little immature babys.
pls help!

But remember it's 2 years old.
vangstaz 1 year ago
@vangstaz What's wrong with the 4850? It's a high end card, you don't seem to get that I'm not arguing about how high end cards aren't good at gaming. I don't understand the need for it if you said you had a 9800 though.
You forgot what you said? You we're the one talking about laughing at outdated "high end" cards, while I was talking about why "low end" cards arent good at gaming, and why this video doesn't help anyone since it was a high priced low end card at the time.
silenceyouidiot 1 year ago
@silenceyouidiot You guys are laughing at an entry-level card that's more than 3 years old while comparing it to today's top cards. Now THAT'S when I say I'll laugh at today's high-end cards in another 3 years when the next generation comes out. You know why? Because I'm playing ignorant just like you guys are. But in reality I will never say that a graphics card sucks, same goes to other components. When should I say that? When another idiot says it to me.
vangstaz 1 year ago
@vangstaz Why did you get a 4850 when you had a 9800?
silenceyouidiot 1 year ago
@silenceyouidiot The 9800GT was a fantastic card. It ran all of the older games at the maximum possible settings in 1080p and some of the newer games at decent settings without sacrificing too much performance. But the card had served it's purpose, just like my FX 5200. I believed I could do better by getting a card that was closer to the performance of a 9800GTX, and that's where the HD 4850 came in. Plus, the HD 4850 ran 40C cooler than the 9800GT at both idle and load.
vangstaz 1 year ago
@farid6188
Radeon 5770 is better
Integrated will never beat a dedicated graphics card (well, not one that's ancient)
Maxtor HDD's sucked hard, cost alot, and terrible transfer time. They would break after a few months, that's why Seagate now owns them.
silenceyouidiot 1 year ago
@silenceyouidiot
maxtor?? those assholes who made graphics chips that were incompatible with all the Worms games? fuck them.

I will be the first to laugh at your GTX 480 and HD 5970 in another 3 years, watch.
vangstaz 1 year ago
@vangstaz I couldnt agree more
nelizmastr 1 year ago
@vangstaz The 480 and 5970 isn't a low entry card. You already failed to make your point by saying "NOT BUILT FOR HIGH-END GAMING" when both of those cards are.
Nobody is laughing at the 5900 ultra, in fact it was a great card at the time and still can play games from 2007-2008.
silenceyouidiot 1 year ago
@silenceyouidiot Are you fucking stupid? I clearly said that the FX 5500 ISN'T HIGH-END. I never said that the GTX 480 or the HD 5970 were low-end... well in another three years then yes. You guys can't seem to compare graphics cards because all I hear and see are dumb asses comparing low-end older generation cards to modern high-end cards which make absolutely no fucking sense what so ever. You guys are smart. *sarcasm
vangstaz 1 year ago

@ArchMageFarnos then try crysis lol
From what I've done in research (Mainly chatting with other Gamers)
the 9600GT can hardly run crysis while the 8800GT or 8400GS run it perfectly. haha
kawaiifreak860 2 years ago
@kawaiifreak860 can play crysis on everything high with no lag... so that's good for me
ArchMageFarnos 2 years ago
You are joking right?
Well, see it by yourself, look for "9600 gt crysis" or something like that.
BTW runs 20-30fps on my PC, all very high........
asc64642 2 years ago
like I said it runs like shit.
50-60 would be good that is shit.
kawaiifreak860 2 years ago
Sorry I didn't mention I have a crappy 2.2ghz dual core CPU, and 1.5mb 667mhz ram?, not to mention the HDD.
You can only get 50-60fps on crysis with a High profile video card, and you CAN'T compare it with a mid-profile card
Look I'm not being disrespectful, but you should be limited to speak only about your experiences. And not to what you see/hear.

.... Why the DVI? its not like it gonna run crysis in a 1900X1200 resolution! Its only if you have a really old computer and want it to speed it up like to run CS 1.6 or something... and this video its from 2007. Why?

kuza261 2 years ago
I have the same card, and I have a problem, if someone can help me. I tried to install the latest drivers available for it which is 175.19 WHQL. The problems is that after I install and restart the computer, it won't run. Like I didn't installed any drivers in the first place, I have to revert to the latest driver 169.21, that works for me.
What is the problem? On the nvidia site it says that fx5500 is supported.

FX 5500 IS A AGP OR A PCI?
michaeljacksonpg 2 years ago
there are both versions
notraxz 2 years ago
you can find it on PciE and AGP..
The point of view version is pci :D
AhmedThaking 2 years ago
@AhmedThaking
damn AGP slots and their varying voltages. why couldn't they just wait for PCI-e. AGP cards are much cheaper now, because of their confusing standards. an old PCI card can cost twice as much as AGP card with a similar speed.
rebelanarch 1 year ago
@rebelanarch
I mean the PCI is newer than the AGP ..
I'm not sure about it either..
