  • I think you did a very good job. I really like this. :)

  • Okay here is my two cents worth-- I learned sign language at the age of 14- more than 30 years ago -- I interpreted at a summer camp here in Maine and also performed in a sign/mime theatre group in college -- you did an amazing job!! You showed expression, you showed emotion -- I could "feel" the song as if you were the one singing it -- when signing a song it IS important to enunciate the words a little more than usual -- I don't think you moved too much at all-- I would say keep it up!!

  • are you def? Just wondering 'cause if you are you're AMAZING at this :)

  • What sign language dictionaries do you use? They seem to have a lot of words that mine don't....

  • Vgg66.... See means.... Signed exact English. I'm learning myself and love see. I wonder what pse is too.

  • @colsmommom

Pidgin Signed English (PSE) is a combination of American Sign Language (ASL) and English. There is no equivalent for many specific words and the syntax is completely different. Culturally Deaf people, signing with each other, usually use ASL, but many people, (frequently deaf or hard of hearing) who learn to sign later in life, after hearing and using spoken English, do not sign strictly in ASL. Instead, they use a mixture of ASL and English that is known as PSE.

  • I know this is dumb of me but I need an awnser I know some asl that I am learning on my own from online at age of 14 but what is the deffintion of SEE and PSE?

  • @VGG66 SEE means Sign Exact Anglish and PSE is Pidgin Signed English. SEE is signing words that you would typically say in normal English. So, if I wanted to sign "I want to go see a movie," I would use signs that would make up that sentence in that order. PSE, on the other hand, is kind of a combination, per say, of ASL and SEE.

  • cool

  • Pretty good.. the only tip i would give is to watch the lips... you cant mouth the words other than that good... Um some of the signs you were finger spelling actually have signs but thats probably because you are from a different state.. Keep it up :)

  • @crystajo123 Thanks! Well, I'm from Norway actually :)

  • Yea i figured it was somewhere different that little indiana haha but great job how long have you been studying asl?

  • pretty cool. I made a video for my fiancee with the same song, even added in the close captions,

  • I'm a hearing sign-learning man. I think the PSE/SEE works very well for people with limited knowledge. I get the meaning quite clearly with the sound off. I miss a lot on the vids of the same song done purely in ASL. I think your interpretation is really well done. MHO
