Come on... What s the difference between US and Nazis? One speaks in the name of democracy(!), the other speaks in the name of fatherland, and they both kill people for their own interest. There are over 1.000.000 civilian kills in Iraq for so-called nuclear and chemical bombs! I do not prefer an evil to another one, however, Nazis were frank at least. They never used and abused the democracy to hide their evil intentions.

Hi! The codename of this bunker was "Valentin". It´s still partly used by the German army, what is very unusual. It´s that huge that they couldn´t use all the space of the bunker and simply "cut" it with a wall in two halfs. The other half is a kind of museum now (only at parts because that would be a very huge museum) You can visit it. The guide times are to find in several internetsites about this bunker. Google: U-Bootbunker Valentin U-Bootwerft Valentin Bunker Bremen Farge
Japan should have kept fighting in China;bad mistake attacking America.Had they not, China would not be a threat that it is today and America would not have interferred with containment of the Communist CCP. What Japan really needs now is a expanded and enlarged submarine force capable of containing China,
The U-boat attacked a comercial US-convey ship on the Atrantic ocean. The convey sank. They did what is the worst.
After that ,the U-boat was attaked by the United nations' force. It sank to the bottom of Strait of Gibraltar.
There, found the clew what is the fear of the real death.
After terrible struggle, they found the way to flow up and returned to the mother port in germany.
But there, a miserable fate was waiting for them.

Was this part of the movie filmed at the actual location where the U-boats were made?
terrafirma91 3 years ago
This was in france, in one of the many Submarine Bunkers, la Rochelle i think it is in the movie.
JheakrynaKyAlur 3 years ago
The U-Boats were made in normal shipyards in Germany.
This bunker in the movie is in France.
But in Germany were attempts made to build submarines in big huge bunkers in an assembly line. In Bremen Farge such a huge Bunker is still excisting.

I understand the German Navy made perhaps a thousand or more of these U boats( Unterwassrerschiffe). Is this true? Is the facility at Bremen Farge available for tourists?

Thanks for the information. This would be a great museum to visit. Think I'll put it on my itinerary.

Japan should have kept fighting in China;bad mistake attacking America.Had they not, China would not be a threat that it is today and America would not have interferred with containment of the Communist CCP. What Japan really needs now is a expanded and enlarged submarine force capable of containing China,
otherwise the CCP of Mainland will attack Japan.

Yamato is also a great film (subtitles would be nice since I don't speak Japanese).
