Lol, what's with the obsession in naming every piece of music with its own title. Black Metal, Death, Heavy, Thrash, Melodic... etc. Does it matter what the hell you call it? I can dip into any genre of "Metal" and it still sounds just the same to me kick ass.
I have noticed that a lot of commenters have been ranting about scene kids and deathcore and shit. Let me make a few points:
1. As You Drown plays death metal. Period.
2. Do not judge a band by it's album cover.
3. Shut the fuck up about scene kids and deathcore. I go to school with a lot of scenes, and even though they're music is not nearly as awesome as true metal, they are still nice, smart, and sophisticated people. They will leave you alone if you do the same for them.
@likgiltig - yup... you found me out. BIEBER RULES!!!! No, seriously... do yourself a favor... broaden your musical horizons a bit. This stuff blows. It's a guitarist that only knows one tone/effect setting and a drummer that's in love with his f'ing double bass drums. If that is in fact really a drummer and not just laid down with samples in the studio, cuz most drummers I know would rather jab an ice pick in their eye, than hammer their kicks like that all night long... boring!
@xADEAN4DIMEx - I've been playing over 30 years... yeah, I've seen drummers with double drive pedals... they're nothing new. Just saying this guy overuses them, and not very creatively. I'd rather hear guys like Brooks Wackerman... check out the old Infectious Grooves stuff (more funk-metal really).

ha ha... this bullsh*t is hilarious... every one of their songs sounds EXACTLY the same... bunch of suckers out there buying this stuff (well, not a bunch, I guess). Thanks for the laugh!
@erhovey Except their songs don't all sound the same. I'm guessing you're not a very experienced death-metal listener, or you just listen to the likes of Linkin park and other mainstream bands. Please, take your trolling and ignorance somewhere else.

But upon listening to this last AYD CD and checking them out on YouTube, I guess I was just inspired by how amazed I was at what I was hearing (not in a good way). If ever there was an award for number of tracks on a CD that sound the same, this would win hands down. I’ll shut up now (everyone applauds). Peace to you and all!
