I think it is very interesting to watch renee´s reactions. when you reminded at the commentary about "once against an army" and renees and lucys faces, their mimic...and here it´s the same. here she saw one scene from "once against..."...and you see the same reaction...i think the memorys to this episode must be very intensiv.

I saw this episode for the very first time last week.

Ever since then I've watched it at least four more times.

I love it now, the character of Annie is great!, Lucy does a briliant job with her.

i think renee was about to explain her opinion on the kiss more.. but it has been cut, her mouth looks open then the shot is cut to lucy doing the joxer the mighty jig...

I think the kiss between "Xena" and "Gabrielle" as Harry and Maddie at the end of the ep really sealed it for some people. About Xena and Gabrielle having a "special relationship", that is. It was sealed for me waaay before that, but some people are just slow, you know. :P

hehehehe...your comment was funny but I agree! it was very obvious was was there between them! and I just didnt like the way that Sam Raimi guy ended the series! gosh I wish that they came back with Lucy and Renee!!!

I don't think Sam Raimi had much to do with Xena, he was just the co-creator or something like that, but he didn't do much else. That I know of...

It was Rob Tapert who wrote AFIN, and so I think we should be blaming him! ;)

Anyone knows when this commentary was done? 2003,4,5,6? Or in fact, when are ALL the commentaries done? Since Lucy and Renee seem to have the same hairstyle in all of them.

only one sentence to the kiss between Xena and Gabrielle in the commentary. And what she said: "Xena is in an Men's body so it's ok" My commentary: "Hä? How cheap is this explanation?"

her saying it doesn't mean it's how Renee feels. Its just logic, that kiss wasn't entirely as controversial as any of the others BECAUSE its a man and a woman. Its lame society.

(something i meant to add) Plus, this is just the video commentary, its pretty cut down from the full commentary, so there maybe a longer explanation.

That was their explanation, their defense of the kiss. They were forced to keep it a "family show", so it was okay to show the kiss, as Xena was in a man's body, so there was no "obvious gayness" there that the kids could pick up on. It might cause them to BECOME GAY! Oh, the horror. (I'm taking the piss, obviously.) But should kids really be watching a show like Xena??
