I remember listening to this album when it was first released. Waters created one of the great works of art of the twentieth century with "The Wall". That he would be able to (perhaps) top it with this seems unfair.

i was born inEngland (roughly a generation after Waters) and I regard him as the chronicler and conscience of our people. The line about Lloyd-Webber has always been priceless. That there are others in one song that are as good seems unreasonable.

So I was listening to Roger Waters speaking about the PF experience and how it happened that both he and David Gilmour were performing in the same city; this was after they broke up as a band of course - DG as PF and RW as a solo act. DG was of course playing PF tunes writen by RW. Roger was saying how ironic it was that he was performing to 2000 guests in a 6000 seat auditorium while DG was in the 30,000 seater. :-(

on this dvd Audio/visual unsynchronized: During Brain Damage, we can hear a bass line being played during Roger Waters having his hands in the air and singing "the lunatics are in my hall". And note that Andy Fairweather Low doesn't have a bass during this part.

i saw both in 2006. waters was more accurate but gilmour gives the better show. his solos are amazing, and most of them are improvised. he sings much better then waters these days. and he had rick wright too, but now...
