  • Jim, I really enjoy your playing. Beautiful tone, beautiful technique!

  • Jim, I really enjoy your playing. Beautiful tone, beautiful technique!

  • Well-played on a sweet-sounding mandolin!

  • thinking the kimbel is missing the screchie bite and woody call of the gibson

  • That tune reminds me so much, thanks once again for sharing!

  • Song is awesome, I'll probably attempt to learn it on the guitar.

  • Nice one! I'm wondering if that is your own rendition or if not where you picked it up?

I learned it from Craig Duncan's "Fiddling Method" book.

    Thanks for posting.

  • My version is based on the banjo-arrangement by my friend Butch Robins. He recorded a great version of the tune on his CD Grounded Centered Focused w/ Jimmy Campbell on fiddle, David Grier on guitar, Dewey Farmer on mandolin, and Mike Bub on bass.

  • Thats great! You don't have that tabbed out do you?

  • very nice

  • Great mandolin playing Jim

  • we itz da best instrument in da worl.. no doubt!!!!

  • Nice

  • Don't suppose you are using TI strings on that axe, eh?!

  • I like it too..thgis version is very sweet!!!!

  • You've got the touch on just about any instrument you play, Jim. You're right--that Kimble is a hoss. Sounds great doing "Tanyards"

  • I appreciate the comment. i do the best I can. I wish I still had that F5. I love the Kimble A I now play, but it just doesn't have the same woof that the F5 had for stuff like Tanyards.
