I'm Iranian. I know the Iranian classic music pretty well. Last year I had a Bulgarian student who gave me a CD of classic Bulgarian music. I really liked it and have been searching for more online. Thnx for your posts. Bagpipe is also common in southern Iran:
Aria means "noble" in sanskrit. Those nobles left they`re lands from Caspain sea and splited in 3 roots, to the south in Iranian plato, to Hindus river and one to europe forming scithyans and thracyans(see the kurgans)...who were anyway the same race.
theinstrument at 1:38 is probly the hardest instrument created by man, it's called Nai, one must blow using the gap between their to front teeth, the hole is that thin, no instument sounds like that,
anyways Great video Stogerov, keep up the good work
Stogerov, that voice mode from bulagrian song,it`s called tahrir in Iran, it`s very hard to sing like that.Anyways i'm really curious to find out how they manish to create that rythm in throat.
The kaval i suppose that it was introduced by turks into the balkans.
No the turks had no strong musical tradition. They are people with no own culture, everything the turks own is from older peoples. The kaval is atique Orpheos was playng on something like that, the origin is egiption!!!
bulgrars had 500 years of turkish cultural influences ,which gave tthe eastern sound in their music made it more palatable otherwise it would have been as dull as the rest of the slavic music .and of course bulgars hava a chip on thier shoulder about beeing ruled by the turks for 500 years-blameing adn looking down on turks all the time .hyahahahaha
@NODNOLKU You sound funny. You dont know the history. Turks are much younger people and Bulgarian and Persian music influenced the Ottoman Empire art.
Turks where wild tribes 1000 years ago with no state rules. Their music was tribal, Shaman. Actually the turbans and the shoes so characteristic for the ottoman Empire are Persian and from Bizantium. Besides POMAKS are not turks at all!!!
@stogerov whichprt of history u talking about after 1393 may be
any way turks have never claim thattheir cultur is theirs it is a result of all people absorbed in a comunuty called "othomans " and all those eastern sounds and mods are neither turkish nor persian most of them are arabic or at least orgnised casified by the arabs ,as the bulgras call them "maneta"-a sign of ignorance .interesting i wonder how did the bulgras influenced the othoman art hahahahahahaha an

how can yoou know have you ever been there. Besides there are a lot of other nations there: gipsyes, aromanians, turkcs, you cannot say how is somebody looking just like that. Besides a lot of new discoveries are prooving the iranian, even non-slavic bulgarian herritage.
Im not US just telling you Esperih means one who rides a hores. Esper means hors, bulgarian folk is not turkic. Whant do you want to proove??? Fakts are saying we the balharians (bactrians) are not TURKS at alll!!!!
The off-modulation is so very typical for the Bulgarian folk, that this is the main characteristic which is differencing classical (european) singer from a native folk one!
Тhe ney has been played continuously for 4,500--5,000 years, making it one of the oldest musical instruments still in use. It is a forerunner of the modern flute.
The original versions are Persian, and I tell you why. The main instrument is called (Ney) and it does sound a lot like the flute but with a very rich theme. Ney is a Persian instrument and most of the classical Persian musics have a touch of Ney in them.
The bulgarian instrument is called kaval and it is different than the Ney, but sounds pretty much the same. :-) And same play techniques of continuous breathing are used.
Beautiful!
God bless IRAN and Iranians!

Да истината за историята ни излиза на яве малко по малко! А това с звука на кавала е следващо то доказателство!
Винаги съм си мислел, че музиката от кавала, като че ли разказва някаква история(най-вече изказва мъката на някой). Песен без думи!
