  • born and raised damn proud san antonio NORTHSIDE!

  • hi said hello must have been about 3 years ago the videos still fantastic best wishes paul boon uk

  • San Antonio is also home to the largest oil and refining company in North America, Valero Energy, which is now larger than Exxon.

  • According to the U.S. Census Bureau, S.A. is the 28th largest metro region in the U.S. behind Orlando and ahead of K.C.

  • San Antonio's urbanized area is larger than Orlando's and other metros in the 2 million range. The reason is nearly all of the population is centered in one county , BEXAR, nearly 1.7 million, the 19th most populous county in the nation.

Atlanta counts over 20 counties and half of Georgia to tally 5 million people. San Antonio is more dense than Atlanta the first 500 square miles. S.A and Adjacent Austin metro would fit inside Atlanta's metro territoy with a lot of room to spare.

  • San Antonio is next to get light rail, but since San Antonio has the second largest freeway network in the nation after L.A., over 3,000 miles of freeway, light rail isn't needed as in cities that have poor freeway infrastructure. San Antonio's Airport, is being expaned to 3 terminals.Louisville? Oh please, San Antonio attracts nearly 27 mil visitors a year, a top destantion in the U.S. cities acting as hubs and people passing and changing planes doesn't eqaul much of a contribution to a city.

  • S.A. ranks 154th in population density. So to get to seventh largest city, the city casts a pretty wide net.

  • I'm tierd of San Antonians saying that S.A. is one of the top ten largest cities in the US. It's an absurd stat that lists Atlanta as 35th. Does SA have a mass transit system? (busses don't count) How about an airport larger than Louisville KY? How many corp. HQ? If you encorporate half of South TX, of course you'll have big population numbers. SA is far from a being a "Big City" Nice town, but ferchissake drop the 7th largest city bull.

  • the most important stat is metropolitan area, not the city stats.

  • Ageed. That's where the flaw is. One city's metro area is another's incorperated area. btw I live in SA, so I'm not here to dis on another person's home.

  • San Antonio is a metro of over 2 million, a 6 county region of nearly 4 million people. It ranks as a F-500 HQ city, Miami, Phoenix, San Diego are not. The percentage of San Antonio workers in the financial industry ranks second-highest in the nation after New York City. San Antonio is a financial hub, nearly 21 billion dollar impact on the city. San Antonio is home to 6 F-500, it was 7 but AT&T recenlty moved it's HQ out of S.A.

  • @eloneskimo Yes, we have an airport larger than Louisville's. Our mass transit is under construction right now, and we have several corp HQ--Valero Energy, Clear Channel Communications (you might have heard of them), HEB (the largest privately owned grocery chain in America), USAA, Frost Bank, ADS (who processess payments for companies like Victoria's Secret and other catalogue firms), and customer service centers for Wells Fargo, Citibank, and JPMorgan Chase. Got anything else stupid to say?

  • @Aquaria Let me clarify to the slow. I used Louisville as an example of size. As far as passengers SA has the 48th busiest airport in the nation behind Milwaukee. Does it make sense that the 48th busiest airport services the 7th largest city? "our mass transit is under construction" you must be f'n joking right? Busses don't count for a mass transit system and we're light years from having light rail. Who needs it when there's so little traffic.

  • @Aquaria As for Corp HQ, let me also clarify. I didn't say there were NO HQ's I asked how many dumbass. Since it was easier for you to rattle off local companies and (snicker) call centers, let me give you some perspective. There are FOUR fortune 500 companies headquartered in SA. #26 Valero #132 USAA #139 Tesoro & #376 CC Media Holdings. By comparison, Richmond VA, Milwaukee, Omaha, Columbus OH, all have five. Shouldn't the 7th largest city have a bit more business?
