  • These cannot be MRL. MRL was introduced by KONE in 1996. Otis followed with Gen2 in 1999, then Schindler with 400A and SchindlerAramid in 2003. ThyssenKrupp followed with ISIS in 2004 and Synergy in 2005.

  • @thyssenelevator95 : And did that travel 700 FPM for 17 floors? I think the elevator is geared traction.

  • @elevatorgeek762 MRL Elevators are only designed to go up to 500 FPM. These are geared traction.

  • Nice elevators, and maybe ThyssenKrupp modernized them, because of the blue LED buttons.

  • Nice. Too bad they were kinda busy.

  • Schindler probably kept these traditional geared since it already has the machine room...

  • @suzzex : How do those elevator already have the machine room? Are you sure these are geared traction?

  • @elevatorgeek762 100% positive. MRL wasn't invented by KONE until 1996, and Haughton was long gone by then. Schindler didn't create their MRL traction models until 2003. These are most definately geared if they are Haughton.

  • @suzzex : I think this speed for geared is around 700 FPM, is that your guess too?

  • @elevatorgeek762 Geared can go pretty much any speed under 500 FPM. Gearless is any speed.

  • @suzzex : Even gearless might travel less than 500 FPM, right?

  • @elevatorgeek762 EcoDisc is gearless and goes as slow as 150 FPM.

  • @suzzex : Does EcoSpace or Monospace make MRL?

  • @elevatorgeek762 EcoSpace and MonoSpace IS MRL.

  • So I am guessing Schindler converted the machine to MRL?
