I don't think Alex is uncomfortable with the interview. He is uncomfortable with the way R&K are praising him, particularly for getting an honorary doctorate from Leeds. I mean Leeds obviously did it for publicity. He only went there for a few months. Now they'll be able to use his name and picture in their catalogs. It's understandable that he's embarrassed to be praised for something so silly. It's not like he can actually do something with an honorary degree.

Considering this was Alex's first US talk show, he did very well. He was funny and personable. I guess they booked him because they figured it would be safe, and R & K wouldn't ask him anything really inappropriate. He still hadn't gone on Chelsea Lately. She would probably eat him for dinner and wash him down with vodka...or not. Either way, it would be fun.

He's so charming and confident. Too bad I don't get along with men like him in real life. I've met several similar cases both looks-wise and behaviour (as far as we know judging by his on-screen personality).

You can't help but admire them from some perspective, envy their "smooth sailing", but their preferences and character is usually "typical"/predictable. You think he'd go for a skinny fun blond - and there's no "depth" beneath the surface, it's a common knowledge he'd go with that option.

@DarkDizzle845 Actually most Swedish people who can fluently speak English master without an accent. Also, you've heard that after school around 20 he lived in Northern England. So I suppose his accent is like with most such cases - reminds of New York East coast sounding.

I'm from Sweden, and now live in London, I don't sound as sexy as he does, also I'm a girl, otherwise I sound about the same.

It is different that as popular as he is, he doesn't really do a lot of talk shows. I think his life is pretty interesting and he should do more.

This was Alex's first US interview, so he probably didn't know what to expect. He is much more comfortable in interviews now. Although I didn't think he was really uncomfortable. He was genuinely funny in certain parts and looked like he thought Regis was funny in some parts. Regis and Kelly just kept interrupting and distracting him, so he had to re-group his thoughts.

Actually, in Sweden, it''s very common that you refer to people by their nickname. I'm Swedish and I know people who have never, not even once, referred to me by my real name. Even people I'm not too familiar with. In Sweden, calling someone by their nickname is a sign of trust and comfort, which reflects friendly behaviors. Calling someone by their formal names is more out of respect and formal behavior, like doctors/Dentist och in-laws. :-)

Ok...the majority of the questions/responses of the interviewers I found pretty dumb, as if it is so amazing that he studies (many people do!).

And I personally don't get people's obsessions with actors/singers/ 'stars'...they're just actors---they draw you into a story, entertain you---that's their job. I guess all this screaming and the 'he's so hot' is exacly what makes or made him uncomfortable. I do like the character he plays (Eric), because he's very complex and interesting.
