Your dates are wrong. The Bat closed in the middle of the 1983 season, but wasn't actually dismantled till 1985. King Cobra closed after the 2001 season, and was dismantled early in the 2002 season. The Demon was removed after the 1987 season.

Makes sense that it's gonna die, 'cause this isn't the first time they've shut it down for safety issues, and it's been defunct for a good two or three years. Where'd you hear about it coming back? guys top gun is not the bat delirium is where king cobra vortex is where the bat is now no one died on the bat it was taken down due to expenses & too many technical problems screamin demon was taken out because they had plans with that spot and barvarian beetle had too many problems and was taken out .
If you go to the vortex and look down into the area where it stands, you can still see the pieces of black steel bolted to the ground where the bat used to be. Also, the bridge you cross to get to the loading area for the vortex was also used for the bat.
Nobody died on the bat. When they built it, they didn't include curves in the banks, so new shocks were installed daily and as a result, cost the company way too much money to continue the coaster.
When I go to Kings Island this summer, I will try to pay my respects to the old coasters. I wished King Cobra was still there but I will really enjoy the Deletium better.

Vortex is in place of the Bat & King cobra was removed at the end of the 01 season with the trains being sent off to KD to be used on their Togo standup,Shockwave.

@wviphoneman18 No, the Bat and Flight Deck are completely different. The Bat was scrapped. The inverted Scooby Doo ride was also scraped. The helicopters are a different ride.
The Bat was epic at the time...though it was closed everytime I was there. Still though...echos of her live on. The load station is still used for The Vortex. You can still see structural remnants (mostly concrete pillars/pads) on the grounds around the Vortex and it's spirit lives on in Flight Deck.

@Skipper72o Son of Beast is still there. King Cobra was removed because the company that made it, TOGO, went out of buisness, and it was hard to find parts for. Some coasters just get old, rusty, or boring.
@F18Productions The Son of Beast still resides at KI, but however was closed in the 2009 season after a woman claimed a blood vessel rupture and placed her in intensive care. The 2010 map no longer shows Son of Beast on it, KI claims that it has cost them nearly 30 million dollars with the maintenance and upkeep. So I see in the near future that it will not be present at KI any longer.

@steves0629 It's closed for the whole season. And it may or may not be closed next year. They're trying to make it "more comfortable." How they're going to do that with a 200+ foot tall wooden coaster, I don't know.

The king cobra wasn't removed in 2005 because of the delerium. They delerium was built in 2003. Not 2005. Sad tht it's gone tho. I never got to ride it

The Bat was epic at the time...though it was closed everytime I was there. Still though...echos of her live on. The load station is still used for The Vortex. You can still see structural remnants (mostly concrete pillars/pads) on the grounds around the Vortex and it's spirit lives on in Flight Deck.

i think they should stop taking down coasters and keep them there!!! I dont get why they take down the king cobra just for the stupid delirium. the son of beast aint even there anymore its not on the map and isnt on the list of rides!

@Skipper72o Son of Beast is still there. King Cobra was removed because the company that made it, TOGO, went out of buisness, and it was hard to find parts for. Some coasters just get old, rusty, or boring.

@F18Productions The Son of Beast still resides at KI, but however was closed in the 2009 season after a woman claimed a blood vessel rupture and placed her in intensive care. The 2010 map no longer shows Son of Beast on it, KI claims that it has cost them nearly 30 million dollars with the maintenance and upkeep. So I see in the near future that it will not be present at KI any longer.

delirium is temporarily closed for idk what reason but it says so on the website and son of beast isn't even listed in the rides and the ride is cut out of the map

actually Olmec son of beast is closed for half this season then is opening up again. they closed it down cause some asshole thinks son of beast is the cause for there health issue. its stupid ppl sewing big companies like this even though it is their fault for not visiting a doctor before they go to the park.

@steves0629 It's closed for the whole season. And it may or may not be closed next year. They're trying to make it "more comfortable." How they're going to do that with a 200+ foot tall wooden coaster, I don't know.

My dad said one time he went to ride the King Kobra, and hes a big guy so the thing wouldnt strap down and lock. The employee's were gonna let the ride take off without him strapped in.

The king cobra wasn't removed in 2005 because of the delerium. They delerium was built in 2003. Not 2005. Sad tht it's gone tho. I never got to ride it
