Thank you so much, is it possible to create this sparkling star in illustrator, as I do most of my artwork in illustrator. If this is not possible do I have to create the background in photoshop and open it in illustrator. Once again Thank you
@ozigirls123 After working on your rgb document, duplicate it and covert a flattened version it to CMYK.under Edit--Covert to Profile and click the Destination field to choose recommend settings from your printer. Or you could save a flattened RGB as a Photoshop PDF, when that dialog opens choose the preset of PDFX-1a:2001, which will automatically convert to US Web Coated (SWOP) for CMYK
@AHOUSE24 Without seeing what your are doing it's hard to say. Maybe check the top options bar to make sure the mode is normal and the Opacity is at 100%.
I keep getting a very slow progress bar when I try and use the radial blur... and when it finally finishes, the whole star is smudged to the left rather than the tips like in your video.. what am I doing wrong?
Radial Blur is an intense filter and usea a lot of Ram so the speed at which it functions will depend on your processor speed, your ram, and how much Ram you have allocated to Photoshop in your Preferences. If you don't marquee the element before applying the center point of the blur will default to the center of the whole document which accounts for the offset you are seeing.
Turn Rulers on first- Control R then make sure you have thems set to show. The Control plus emicolon toggles guides on/off. Select your Move tool to drag from the top ruler or side ruler or use the top View command and choose New Guide to place one.
Sorry for being troublesome again, but my cursor doesn't turn red (on a Mac). Furthermore, my star disappears when I release the mouse button in the "full pixels" mode. Any ideas what it could be?
My cursor doesn't turn red either. Are you confusing the video callouts with the Photoshop interface. And are you using Photoshop? If you are painting with white on a white background you won't see it. Make sure about your foreground color vs the document background. Create a new blank layer above a photo layer or a dark color layer to paint white stars.
Thanks Photoshopmama! Now i am making brushes, and i did make a rather beutiful poster, for use on an important exhibition where i should present my part-time work. I was lucky stumbling over this tutorial right before i travelled away. This was excatly what i needed, cause i was actually clueless. So thanks again from Norway!

@ozigirls123 Illustrator has some raster filters that you could check out on top of the star shape.

I don't have the drop-bar arrow for the airbrush part, what else could I use instead? Or how can I find away to use the same tool as you did?
