  • @Tippersnore....uhh...no.

  • Is the drummer wearing the guitarist's wig?

  • Why is there no original video of this on You Tube? Common folks, Hello? This one was one of the bests. Someone's gotta post the original Cetera version. Sorry, but Howland shouldn't be singing lead on this one. He simply can't hit the notes. Just sayin' :)

  • This guy can't come close to the original version with Peter Cetera.

  • Great job Howland! Head & shoulders better than Scheff. (Scheff "Struggling" ?? Yeah, I guess you could call it that. I would call it "Sucking.")

  • i never thought

Pete had an ego..I always respect him to this day for be straight forward..

  • Cetera hasn't been in the band for 25years

  • Cetera doesn't sound like he used to anymore. Still a great band, people come and go, and i cant wait to see them in Febuary in Richmond!

  • @bobby401ca That isn't Cetera. It is Jason Scheff. Cetera still sounds pretty darned good.

  • @MrIHADANACCOUNT No, i know it isn't cetera and i am sure Peter still sounds pretty good, i havn't heard him lately, but after 25 or 30 years noones voice is as it was. i am going to see them in febuary, Cetera or not, I can't wait! Have a great day!

  • @bobby401ca I misunderstood you. Please forgive my mistake. Do enjoy the show!

  • @MrIHADANACCOUNT That´s Kieth Howland singing. Jason Scheff is struggling with a few of the songs, so they will occasionally use others.

  • I've listened to A LOT of Chicago live gigs over the years, and this A&E show is one of THE BEST!

  • Wow! This version is great!! Didn't know Howland could sing.

  • Um, I have ears...this guy is nowhere near Cetera...my opinion...

  • I understand they gotta eat and continue on but this guy is not even close to Peter Cetera's vocals.

  • @vrc1008 What trip are you on????

  • And they so need a more dynamic drummer, with a little more pop. Without Seraphine this comes off almot as elevator music.

  • Well whatever you think of Chicago then vs. now, we can all give thanks to Scheff no longer singing lead. That was f****d.

  • Don't compare to Peter Cetera

  • @jonpaulmoen Doesn't Compare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Get it right~~Hahaha

  • Wow, Keith really does a great job on lead vocals in this tune. Not Peter Cetera, but still great nonetheless. He's very solid, and an incredible guitar player. +1!!!

  • omg,ty for posting this what a great song

  • drummer is wearing a wig...he's now TOTALLY bald !!

  • @getchasumm Looks like his hair to me...seen him many times over the years. He's battling cancer...that's what happened to the hair. I think he looks great.

  • Cetera Ruled!!! But they've lasted for infinity so give em street cred.

  • @buffalo729 The feeling is sooo mutual ...')))))))

  • I love all the debate. The bottom line is this, they are still touring, packing out the house and making millions of dollars a year while you are working at McDonalds. Rave on music critics but salt the fries first.

  • Keith is a way better singer than Jason

  • @beatleman I bet your dick is a small feat....farther more than ..Jason.......hahha!!!

  • You know, it's really not a big deal in

the overall scheme of things, and it sounds like a rant, but I'm just so tired of

these apologists for these fake or shadow

bands, who are often affiliated with them, who comeon and rationalize it with their

    sycophantic remarks.

  • Oh it's Keith singing I understand, what

    is this American Frickin Idol?

  • The New Years eve '75 video is on here, and the comparison doesn't flatter the current outfit, nothing against Jason

whatsoever, he also has no perspective on the vocal. It's a nostalgic salute from a baby boomer, who's remembering the 50's and 60's written in the 70's. I mean comeon, how could he possibly "feel" the song, he's just mouthing the words.

  • And once again with no disrespect to the original members of the brass section, when/if Rob L. leaves, shut er down please, cause you just won't be CHICAGO anymore.

  • Actually, Chicago "fans"; get it in perspective! After Terry died they managed to survive; after Cetera got egotistical, they managed to survive; and they are not bad at that. I just saw them in Tokyo, and they were pretty darn good. Sure Jason struggles with 2-3 of Cetera's leads, but he actually beats him on songs like Searchin'. Besides, unlike Cetera, Jason is a gentleman. Go to You Tube and search it up. Long live Chicago in whatever form. The horns and Lamm are still juice. Long live CTA.

  • You know I'm so sick of this "who's a gentleman" and who isn't crap. I don't care, I've never met either, so I just care

what they sound like, and one sounds like the original, the other sounds like a fairly okay imitation. It ain't charm school,

it's a frickin venerable rock band, without

many of its key original components, get it through your thick head, for once.

  • With out Peter Cetera. Never Same Chicago exist. Jason ?, what a joke.

  • Keith Howland is a great asset to the band, and my wonderful amazing guitarist friend and lover, Dan, he says that Keith jams on the guitar, that he's excellent !And he knows believe me!He says that Terry would've been proud of Keith!

  • yes, he is one of the best things that ever happened to Chicago I think. I´m a huge Keith fan ;-)

  • This reminds me of my childhood in Tomball Texas. Warm summer nights, sleepovers, childhood friends and just good times.

  • Can't hit the notes like Pete

  • @giantfan63 He's the lead guitarrist, not lead vocals....

  • Too high for Howland.

  • so much for Scheff getting to sing lead on this.....

  • Didn't he used to sing lead vocals on this? I know Cetera was the original, but I thought Scheff took over on all his songs. I notice now that Keith sings on a few of these now... including If You Leave Me Now. Scheff should really be singing these types.

  • wow, Keith really rocks, he´s the best...he´s an awesome guitarist and singer, and he does a great job...I like this version more than the versions in the past...

  • I love it and this songs brings a tear to my eye remember the early '70's as a little kid when this song came out. Peter Cetera fucking kicked ass on the original........

  • This vocal blows. Seriously.

  • Terry was on his way to quitting the band when he died and Keith, as much as I like his playing, should not be singing this song. It's too high for him. Sorry.

  • I like Keith Howland. He's not only a fantastic guitarist but he's so damn cute, you just have to smile when they show him on camera. I like Keith but I LOVE Robert Lamm...such a classy guy and holds everything and everyone together or so it seems-together with Walt. A fantastic songwriter and a great vocalist. Singing over 40 years and still sounds the way he did all those years ago. His voice maybe deepened a little w/age but it still sounds great ! Terrific dude-just fabulous!

  • the best "live" version of the song is still the new years rockin' eve from 1975. the harmonies here don't come close.

  • That version is best by a mile and it used to be on here but can't find it anymore

  • it's back up!

  • great song

  • No dis-respect to all the older Chicago fans out there, but I think The band is awesome just how they are and I think Keith knocked this song out of the park!

  • i could not say that any simpler, i agree!

  • Give it up. Chicago died when Terry Kath died. I can't listen to this.

  • Terry would have wanted this band to go on.

  • Sorry, but Terry Kath was my idol and I loved him. I don't know what Terry would have wanted, but I can tell the difference. It's just not the same. Sorry. I don't care if you gave me a minus 3 . I speak the truth. Nothing to debate about. If you disagree then we disagree. No need to write me over it.

  • Old days..memories of yesterday..1969,,,Chicago in Paris~~love that old video~~

  • He does it better then PC and Jason did and he deserves to sing when he given the chance to do so.

  • Sorry, Keith is not in the same vocal league as Cetera. He's essentially a back up singer and, as proven here, has no business covering any lead vocals for Chicago.

  • That was a unique show where Mr. Champlin(sp?) got to sing the lead and you never see Jason till the end? Oldies is one that the new guitar player really knows!!!! In the band Chicago the members were always easily replaced by other great performers! And this is a steady line up. You gotta hand it to Robert Lamm :)

  • There's one and only Chicago. The original classic Chicago (196901977). This is just a cover band.

  • take me back to a world gone away.... the one with the original seven.

  • Right on my friend. It is so hard to tolerate HOWLand & Scheff screetching out the vocals. "The Replacements" should just play the music and Lamm should sing the songs after Cetera and Kath....

  • i believe that after Terry Kath's dead and the departure of Peter Cetera, the only thing that we can save from this Chicago line-up is Robert Lamm.

Because Kath,Cetera and Lamm. We're the genius behind Chicago's success

  • totally agree with that statement

  • Crap,What an Insult to Cetera

  • This is one of my favorite songs by Chicago. The horns are GREAT!! I have to say Cetera's singing is always the best (to me), but I enjoyed this version.

  • no disrespect to Keith Howland who is a fine player, but RIP Terry Kath, Chicago died when you did

  • sorry but I think Keith is much better, thats only my opinion !!

  • It's a mistaken one.

  • IT is about time, they let the guitar man sing, cause he can. There is alot of potential there ! Thanks for posting

  • just whose decision IS it who sings what ??? Is it Lamm ?? Pankow ??

  • Keith Howland is soooo awesome, one of the greatest musicians worldwide (for me)!!!wow

  • where the fuck is cetera when we need him ???

  • probably sulking somewhere and/or being a sourpuss. I like Peter but there's also a lot to be said for having a pleasant personality in a group situation. Towards the end, he was such a sourpuss or it sure seemed that way. Anyway, Cetera is ' old news'. I love this current line-up. I think Keith does some awesome, fantastic singing as well as guitar playing.

  • I'm glad they finally took this one away from Jason. Keith does fine.

  • just whose decision IS it who sings what ??? Is it Lamm ?? Pankow ??

  • Bring Dwayne Bailey back... pleeeeeeeeeeeease

  • Keith does a great job here! I'm a huge Cetera fan but I was quite impressed with this performance. The only thing I miss is Cetera's extremely high voice at the end of "Old Days." Keith kept it mellow at the end.
