This constant refering to hitler is the exact technique hitler would have used ( im aware i am doing it myself) but hitler took the worst issues and people of his day and associate those issues and people with his political enemies reguardless of if their opinions are similar or not .
Actually, no, the type of person of who voted Hitler to power wouldn've been someone who went along with the emotional tide and mob mentality of political, populist rhetoric of the time without actually thinking about the meaning or outcomes that could possibly have resulted from following through on that rhetoric.
Someone like, for example .... Kevin James!
And quite possibly, since you don't seem to understand the distinction here ... yourself.
FIRST It astounds me how politicians and political commentators who should know better, have no grasp of the history they reference for their own agenda. At least they, like Sarah Palin and Kevin James, try to evade the discussion by sliming around it. Jamesocon 1 on the other hand, pretends he knows all about it, and gets it absolutely WRONG. Hitler and his Generals knew (and Hitler himself later said so) that if Germany attacked Czechoslovakia in 1938 they would be defeated by Czech's allies.

Check your history. Abraham Lincoln and Harry Truman - both had low approval ratings. Especially Truman when he fired General Douglas MacArthur. History proved that these men were forward thinking, disciplined individuals who did not follow national polls. Like your friend President Clinton.
History will evetually prove MSNBC wrong. I'll let the scholars and historians instruct us on history as opposed to Keith Olberman, Oliver Stone, and Chris Matthews.
oh yah and I suppose that bush and cheney and the rest of the people that have destroyed your constitution will be cast in a favorable light? your a tool.
Classic example of a mind numbing empty headed ditz who uses buzz words she doesn't understand is that dimwit Elisabeth from "The View". She is absolutely clueless and is just punishing to watch.
Holy crap. I mean, holy crap. They're talking about censorship and systematic intimidation of the opposition on MSNBC. Remember how they were after 9/11 and right before the Iraq War? Thank God the crazies have lost control of the media machine for now. Let's hope it stays that way and that Iran or whoever doesn't do something stupid to undo what's happened.
Watching this caused me to look it up. Chamberlain and Hitler talked, signed an agreement. Hitler broke the agreement, so THEN Great Britain declared war. Sounds like a reasonable course of events instead of the wild cowboy "shoot first" mentality. Oh, and it's probably why it was easier for them to get Allies.
Appeasement 1938. A generation of Brits did not want another war. Chamberlain knew that GB wasn't ready for war. In 1938 he bought time to rebuild military. Then brought Churchill into the cabinet to prepare the country for war. Churchill would never have led the country in war only for Chamberlain. Sudetenland was sacrificed, but at that time there was no other option. Had GB gone to war then they would have lost. Chamberlain knew that and played for much needed time. Result: The Nazis lost.
Not only did Matthews not get it, most commentators both sides of the Atlantic, don't get it either. It's a pity because it is not helping people understand the real issues in the so-called war on terror. Another piece of history people don't get is the full, complicated and seeming contradictory history of the IRA/Terror in Ireland 1850 - 2000; especially more recent 1968-1998. If they did they would be handling the Middle East in a very different way, and we'd all be better off.
Wow, I hate Obama, but Kevin James is an idiot.

Nice to be reminded that some people in the mainstream media aren't on their knees for the administration.

I don't think people give Chamberlin the respect he deserves. In all honesty, even Matthews really didn't get it.
