Yeah, the stats are about the same as a laptop much less than half the price (Probably 1/4th the price if you get a windows laptop)...

Then of course, it wouldn't be able to run any heavy apps for sure because of heat management. And it costs $99 just to get an external drive so you can use cds/dvds.. LOL

Hardly worth $2100 to have a laptop that's .5" thinner and doesn't perform as well. Maybe a novelty for rich people at best.

Sure, maybe if I were looking for a computer to just browse the internet or do some artwork on I'd want a mac. But I like to be able to play games, use open source study programs, watch media in formats that mac can't run, etc.

I don't like the MacBook air - It looks stunning, but:

Less power than a normal MacBook but costs the same as a base MacBook Pro.

4200rpm (iPod) hard drive is slow. Boot time is 1 minute. Unacceptable.

SSD is £1000 option

No CD Drive

1x USB Port.

No ethernet.

Screen is too small.

Yes, I agree, but It isnt made for Everyday use like most of us would use it for. It is for simple basic computing. and is made for the "Wireless" age of today. As much as i enjoy my MacBook Pro, I need my USB and Ehternet slots.

I only recommend this computer for College students, or for children who are begining to learn how to use a computer.

I would agree with you just said, but putting the world's thinnest laptop (valued at approx. $1200 USD) in the hands of a six-year old? That's a very bad idea.

I don't think I know anyone that can get by with just one USB port. At least, no one that multi-tasks like I do =D
