OMG! I grew up in Hamilton but I went to Jefferson Elem. then, Madison Elem, then we moved to the West side and went to Lincoln Elem. I was so sad to find out they were torn down /: I LOVE FLUBBS AND JOLLY'S!
lol nice video you left a lot of things out but i get what you was doing i grew up on the knob and i still have a lot of friends and family there and that school vb i played there all the time with my friends
Hell yeah, representing Hamilton. I think me and you are the only ones on YouTube that are representing Hamilton. Check out my page, I don't have a tour of Hamilton tho
i attended van buren also and it was being leveled because they said it was too old and they built a new school at the east view swimming pool location
Dude, awesome video! I'm from there but i went Monroe (which was vandilized last time I saw it, the turds.) But you forgot ALOT of cool places! Like West Side Little League, and Flubs!! And the high school! Ahhhhhh, such a great town..... :) Awesome videos :)
Nice series Brian. I had major flashbacks to the 80's. Sad to hear about Van Buren... I was there from 2nd-6th grade.(late 70's to early 80's). That 2-3rd graders playground you could find all sorts of fossilized items. Hamilton may have hed its glory days but there is a lot of history in that small town. There was a huge amount of industry that drifted away. Champion, Mosler, Diebold and even Fisher Body... Now whats left AKSteel (at the old Armco building). Still an interesting place....
Hey, I grew up on the West side, Lawn and Haldiman. Hamilton, nice town to be really young and great place to raise a family. Not a lot for dating and early career, but what place is.
Love all the primary schools in Hamilton, they all look the same. Sorry to hear EB will close, that was a nice old fashioned touch. A lot of things change and die in Hamilton, but a few dont. Flubbs, Jolly's, Milillo's, I guess West Siders like their low level food. Great video, keep up the great work.
yea.. when i was growing up i never took into consideration that things weren't permanent .. - nowadays it seems like businesses are closing, changing, etc. on a monthly basis.. - i grew up an east sider (an am still one at heart) but reside on the west side now.. - Flubbs is one of the highlights about being on this side of the bridge.. - thanks for the comment and kind words..
How long ago did the ice rink close down? Looked like it was sliding downhill on my last few visits. Haven't been in town in a couple years now.
Hamilton really has a lot of parks and really huge school yards. A lot more than most communities. I only lived their for four years, but I really feel like I "grew up" there. Cincinnati to the south, nice countryside to the north and a river right down the middle. Great place to live.
hey.. brian here.. - yes, i did work at the theater back then.. - wow.. - small world, or, small town.. i should say.. - haven't seen Rutledge in years, though..
don't know where i got the '59 flood from.. - i recall the 1913 one you mention.. - i think the info i quoted was from a plaque at the hamilton miami campus.. - thanks for checking out the video.. - glad you enjoyed it!
You make me wanna make vids about Hamilton. I still live there. I just don't know what to make the videos about. Thanks for inspiring me. :)

Hamilton!, Ohio
Born & raised there :D
I went to Jefferson, which is sadd cause they tore all the elementary schools down to build new ones ://
I lived right down the street from the Lane Public Library!.
There's new statues & they're trying to 'modernize' it ; but Hamilton will ALWAYS be the same to me.
I lived across from the old Mercy site.
Now it's just a big field where everyone goes to play baseballlllllll. (:
Same people. Same restaurants. Same unused buildings.
I <3 it.
