Good question. In Jesus' time, if the Jews weren't keeping the 7th day, I'm sure Christ would have told them as He kept Sabbath too, which was the 7th day (Friday sunset to Saturday sunset). The Islamic people believe in the prophets like Moses who was given the 10 commandments, which stated the 7th day. They are not doing that even though their Koran says they should.
Sunday came from the papacy and not from the Bible.

@earsarehearible In ACTS the apostles did not CLEARLY kept the sabbath that was NOT their goal but you can see in ACTS where the clearly celebrate PENTECOST which was always held on the FIRST DAY of the WEEK Acts 2:1, Acts 20:16, 1 Co 16:8..the bilbe made it clear Act 18:4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks. I mean why persuade them if they were filled at PENTECOST? because they weren't there hence he had to REASON with them every SABBATH lol

The point is that God is clearly the Creator of all things. We are told clearly the Sabbath was for man. So the question you want to ask is where does it say that the New Testament church is NOT to keep the Sabbath day Holy?

@doneodone Read john 7:23 there Jesus contrasts the 2 law in the old testament. The Lord's day which is even mentioned in rerelation1:10 was not part of the law of Moses. But the commandant you shall not kill sets me free. and the Sabbath sets me free. Because all 10 commandments were for man and not man for the commandments.

He did as was customed casue he was born under the law..HE IS THE LORD OF THE SABBATH (rest) hence he said come unto me and I will give you rest. THANK YOU friend for sharing in God's truths. It is giving our love, obedience, and our "time" to Jesus Christ, and I just do not see where loving, and obeying Jesus Christ is dangerous. Faithful Israel worshiped 3 times everyday as there are 3 daily sacrifices in the Temple. If anyone is telling people not to worship Christ on any day, they are of Satan. God's Rest was man's 1st Day. Israel's rest came after 6 hard days of work, 6 years of working the land, after 49 years, and on numerous days throughout the year. Christian's rest comes in Christ. Soon all blinded Israel will join Christians in Christ's rest, once the full number of gentiles has come in. The commandment for the descendants of Jacob, is to stone anyone who does anything on the day of rest. Faith in Christ is the Way.

I'm sorry but, I've took it upon my circumstances, to tell you religious SDA's, that you all are obviously, judgemental, and just the rudest people, i've ever encountered!! Not too long ago, i went to one of the churches, the feeling was unwelcomed!! So I just gave on this religion!! People there told to not wear jewlry or make up!! or let alone eat pork!! in other words they look down on you!! outz!!
I am very sorry you had to go through that experience but my friend, you shouldn't let the experience of a SDA completely cut you off from SDA. I know if you had a bad experience with a doctor, it will not stop you from seeing a doctor if you were sick so you shouldn't judge based on an experience.

@hotthizzle77 ALL the Law and the Prophets is fulfilled in Christ and if we are in Him we are complete in Him (Col 2:10) and a righteousness APART from the Law is revealed through us (Rom 6:14). The law is written on our hearts Jer 31; not on stone or in a book! (2 Cor 3) The result? A change of attitude and behaviour which fulfills all the righteous demands of the Law. When a man is led by the Spirit of Christ he is a a son of God and all the fruits of the Spirit will be present.

@hotthizzle The Sabbath was a Sign, a weekly ceremony commemorating Israel's deliverance from Egyptian bondage by the Creator. Christians are not delivered from Egyptian bondage! Christians are not under law to Moses; they are under law to Christ which, as He shows in the Sermon on the Mount (Matt 5) is of a higher standard and broader in scope that a mere ten laws.

@hotthizzle77 Its like this. Christ was a Jew under the Jewish Law and teaching people under the Jewish Law and that's why He kept the Sabbath! But time, place and circumstances must be taken into consideration. When He died (and especially when the “heavens and earth” eventually passed away as it did in AD 70) that system of Law came to an end. If you wish to maintain sabbath keeping then you are in serious trouble.

Those who place themselves under the Law are obliged to keep all the Law (600 plus laws) and not least the sacrificial laws INSEPARABLY connected with the Sabbath and to do so perfectly. Nobody has authority to separate the Sabbath from the law of blood sacrifices mandated by God for the seventh-day Sabbath observance.

(Cf decision of Jerusalem Council) Nowhere does Paul detail exactly how the Gentiles are to observe it, which is rather amiss of him, dont you think, if the Sabbath commandment is obligatory, considering he was the Apostle to the Gentiles?

my wife and I "came out of Babylon" pagan Sunday worship. We obey the bible not the pope. Jesus even advised us to pray about the sabbath in the last days of tribulation Mat_24:20 But pray that your flight is not in the winter, nor on the sabbath day;
Jesus was concerned that we would have to flee on the sabbath for that is a day we should not be travelling long distances. He wants us to be able to obey the sabbath as best we can.

This clearly states the sabbath belongs to God. It is HIS creation.
There is a misconception regarding the verse, Mark 2:27, "The Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath".
People take that as meaning God gave the sabbath to man to do with as he wished. Ex. 20:10 clearly negates that teaching.
It is God's sabbath. It is the ONLY commandment with the word, "remember". Why do so many wish to forget it?

so, my question is, what day is the sabbath? people of the Jewish faith have saturday, Christians have Sunday, and the Islamic have Friday. The Jewish and Islamic were here before christians were even a concept, but christians have this idea that they got things right. I'm a christian myself, but i find getting good answers quite fufilling.

Good question. In Jesus' time, if the Jews weren't keeping the 7th day, I'm sure Christ would have told them as He kept Sabbath too, which was the 7th day (Friday sunset to Saturday sunset). The Islamic people believe in the prophets like Moses who was given the 10 commandments, which stated the 7th day. They are not doing that even though their Koran says they should.
Sunday came from the papacy and not from the Bible.

@earsarehearible In ACTS the apostles did not CLEARLY kept the sabbath that was NOT their goal but you can see in ACTS where the clearly celebrate PENTECOST which was always held on the FIRST DAY of the WEEK Acts 2:1, Acts 20:16, 1 Co 16:8..the bilbe made it clear Act 18:4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks. I mean why persuade them if they were filled at PENTECOST? because they weren't there hence he had to REASON with them every SABBATH lol

@doneodone Jesus was using the old testament to defend himself, when He was accused of breaking the Sabbath. This shoes that is was always right to do good on the Sabbath. Are you telling God. "God you created a law for the Israelites that did not allow them to care for the sick, to heal, God you created a law for the Israelites that did not allow them to be merciful cause they could not care for people on the Sabbath. @doneodone Read john 7:23 there Jesus contrasts the 2 law in the old testament. The Lord's day which is even mentioned in rerelation1:10 was not part of the law of Moses. But the commandant you shall not kill sets me free. and the Sabbath sets me free. Because all 10 commandments were for man and not man for the commandments.

@Jondadon2006 wait I aint done many say that Jesus Kept the Sabbath, but not in the sense of peoples thinking. He did as was customed casue he was born under the law..HE IS THE LORD OF THE SABBATH (rest) hence he said come unto me and I will give you rest. He went in the Synagogue not to "keep the Sabbath day holy" but to preach and reason with the Jews..after all you not suppose to do anything at all on the SABBATH that is why they had a hard time with JESUS casue he is lord of the SABBATH

God's Rest was man's 1st Day. Israel's rest came after 6 hard days of work, 6 years of working the land, after 49 years, and on numerous days throughout the year. Christian's rest comes in Christ. Soon all blinded Israel will join Christians in Christ's rest, once the full number of gentiles has come in. The commandment for the descendants of Jacob, is to stone anyone who does anything on the day of rest. Faith in Christ is the Way.

Hebrews 4:9 also says, "There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God;" The sabbath command teaches the Israelite the rest Christ was talking about. I will be wrong and deceiving if the rest Jesus mentioned is of physical rest. But if I am correct, guess who is the deceiver.

Not too long ago, i went to one of the churches, the feeling was unwelcomed!! So I just gave on this religion!! People there told to not wear jewlry or make up!! or let alone eat pork!! in other words they look down on you!! outz!!

I am very sorry you had to go through that experience but my friend, you shouldn't let the experience of a SDA completely cut you off from SDA. I know if you had a bad experience with a doctor, it will not stop you from seeing a doctor if you were sick so you shouldn't judge based on an experience.
The Bible says there are wheat and tares in the church so you will see the tares but let the word of God be the impact.....

I use to wear jewelry but it was the word that changed me and the SDA showed me from the Bible why. It is about the heart. If truth comes our way, we will not attack someone. Deep down we get upset because we still want to do them...

Gal 6:1 says if we see someone in a fault, restore them with meekness but don't judge us all as rude, judgmental because you are being judgmental by saying we are all judgmental.

The Advent msg shows us that we idolize jewelry and make-up so to maintain a closer relationship with God we give up these things.

its crazy that people go to all lengths to prove that God make changes to God's word and whats the reason for that? generally its to justify our lifestyles but the bible in proverbs 3:5 says - Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. To break one commandment is to break all ref: mat 5:19. James 2:10 also speaks about keeping the whole law. Hebrews 13:8 (KJV), “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever”.

Besides, a growing number of their churches have fallen into apostasy. Accordingly, I participate in online Bible studies on Sabbath evening (Friday evening) and listen online to Sabbath sermons by the Presents of God ministry (remnantofgod (dot) org).
