Why do you worry that Mary of Magdala was there. It is poetic licence. Men did not go and do the shopping or prepare the meal. That would have been womens' work. I do believe, though, that no women would have been present that evening. It was a very intimate group of Jesus and His closest disciples - the twelve. Also notice that John does not describe the eucharist. By the time he wrote this, the eucharist was already being celebrated by the early Christians. Love is the theme here.

What makes this movie so great is that it follows scripture without all the drama of Hollywood. I noticed a few comments about Judas. I believe that Judas had a part to play in God's greater plan. I think he gets a bum rap as some would say. We are all sinners and you can tell that Judas was sorry for the part he played as he gave back the 30 pieces of silver and was in so much despair that he hung himself.

I'm sure Jesus has forgiven him.

When I watched this movie I suddenly realized something. At 1:08 the "story teller" said that the devel had already given Judas a THOUGHT about betrading Jesus. And later on: When Judas took the bread, satan entered him. It seems like when Judas accepted the bread, he kind of let satan into his heart.. I don't think it was a "plan" that Judas would betrade Jesus, but Jesus knew Judas would do it.
