  • sick recording what kind of camera did you use?

  • @AR6NO6LD6 casio exilim

  • thank you KxK for making Karl Sanders dank ass double neck guitar!

  • Sebek was the principle crocodile God in ancient Egypt, regarded as a personification of the powers of evil and death.

The Nile crocodile is one of the very few animals on our planet that actively hunts and preys upon humans with specific intent, as opposed to incidental.

  • @FlammableDead

I have no idea where you got that info, but I suggest you check your sources :)

  • @FlammableDead

No he's not. Egyptians didn't even have a concept of evil. If anything the only thing that comes close would be Seth.

Sebek was a very benevolent deity, in charge of having good crops.

  • @ImmortalityMazrigos My sources are the booklet from Anihilation of the Wicked, where Karl Sanders states what i just wrote. I'd like to think he researches before coming up with these lyrical concepts, hence i put more stock on what he says then some random youtube commenter.

  • @FlammableDead Alright, that sounds more then resonable. My response just came from years long study of Egyptology. I am unsure what HP Lovecraft etc says on the subject, knowing that he used existing names in his books.

The actual Sebek had his cult around the Fayyum oasis, from Middle Kingdom forth. You can get most info on his doings from the Book of the dead (the version by Ani, that is preserved in the British Museum has a good passage about him).

  • first time i see this band, fucking delicious

  • White bass drum heads are NOT metal. Shame on you George!

  • @stradale13 does it matter???? he is an awsome not all metal drummers HAVE to have black drum heads.

  • @marauder622 I was kidding dudebro. He is arguably the best death metal drummer alive.

  • dallas should never have cut the hair

  • likelikelike \m/

  • this is one of the most brutal live videos - i - have - seen

    and i ve seen a lot :D

the base kicks ass and the new dallas is much more brutal now

  • Whoah, I didn't know Dallas shaved his head.

  • Karl Sanders. All the Wisdom.

  • i miss the skullet, but niles awesomeness transends haircuts.

  • dallas looks so fucking metal with his new guitar and short hair

    and karl kicks ass

  • i didnt know dallas shaved his head. he looks like the guy from dying fetus haha

  • why is the bass guy doing karls vocals.... damn i love karls vocals!!!

  • dallas with no hair

    looks kind of funny

but he looks very cool too

  • Aww i want a Nile DvD

  • YESS!! seein these dudes in sydney in a week!!!! guna b awesome!!

  • Why does he use a double neck

  • @skruvmaejsel He uses it to switch between a fretted and a fretless neck for some songs. The top neck is fretless, the bottom neck is fretted.

  • @Spermwhales93 As far as i can see, both necks are very fretted, very for being scalloped necks. Unless he uses silver striped inlays and 3d fretboard.

  • @skruvmaejsel The top neck on his double neck is a fretless 11 string, Karl says that himself in a video. Search for Nile MetalKult interview and in the first part of the interview he talks for a bit about the guitar.

  • @Spermwhales93 The top neck is clearly fretted though... lol

  • @tridentdc24 There are no frets on the top neck! There are inlays showing where the frets would be, that's why it looks fretted! lol

  • @Spermwhales93 Oh I suppose that makes sense now that I think about it. I apologize for my misunderstanding. Thats pretty badass I want one now...

  • @Spermwhales93 farm5 . static . flickr . com / 4063 / 4366793226_4b063da4b9_z . jpg.

There might be more karl sanders double necks but this one is clearly not fretless, 11 string or any visual difference between both of the necks.

  • @Spermwhales93 farm5 . static . flickr . com / 4063 / 4366793226_4b063da4b9_z . jpg.

There might be more Karl Sanders double necks but this one is clearly not fret less, 11 string or any visual difference between both of the necks. Which seems very odd for not tapping the neck at the same time.

  • @skruvmaejsel Karl Sanders only has one double neck and the top neck is AN 11 STRING FRETLESS, Karl has said so himself. Search on youtube for "Nile MetalKult Interview".

  • @Spermwhales93 I still don't belive it. You can clearly see it's 6 nuts on the top neck

  • I like how Karl does this solo live rather than the recorded version

    Hail Nile!

  • lool the duoble guitar is awesome!!!

  • If anyone reads the lyrics to this song it sounds like someone is making a sacrifice unto sebek or sebek is killing people and doing things with their bones

I want to write about similair topics but i cannot find anything that is even close to what Karl sanders writes about

Does anyone know what his source of information is? or where i can go to study similair things on the net?

Where does he get this information for these songs from?

  • Much of the lyrical content is based on Karl's interest in Egyptology and other ancient Middle Eastern cultures, such as Mesopotamia and he is also inspired by the writings of H. P. Lovecraft.

  • Last year I've read a German book about religion of Ancient Egypt, it was written by a archaeologist. Sometimes it was weird but nevertheless very informative.

Maybe you can get a smiliar one in English.

  • @DiscipleOfRa Yes many, many ancient Egyptian references, usually to the underworldly realm, and also quite a few H.P. Lovercraft inspirations- songs like 4th Arra of Dagon and Unaussprechilen Kulten are part of the Lovecraft mythos

  • @DiscipleOfRa

Sobek (or Sebek) is a god usually shown as a human with the head of a crocodile. He was supposed to be the god of frutility. Each Nile inundation he was prayed to, to ensure a wealthy crop.

Sobek also assisted with the birth of Horus, the son of Isis. This in Middle Kingdom times.

In later times Sobek was seen as the reincarnation of Ra, the Sungod.

  • @DiscipleOfRa your best option would be looking for books on the egyptian culture at your nearest bookstore.

  • I liked his skullet way better. It made him look, more fit foor the genre.

  • george is one of my favorite drummers!!

  • dallas looks awesome now!

  • Dallas is rocking the John Gallagher look. I agree that it was time. The skullet was getting a bit ridiculous...

    LOVE NILE!!!!!

  • @Metalhead7517 dying fetus and nile = epic tour =o

  • Dallas has no hair?

  • Yep. Now, he needs to start a bald project with (in some one's words) John Gallagher, (and in my words) with Devin Townshend, and Nick Oliveri, and Gadler, and Sauron, and etc...

Because they would need a bald drummer...

  • I was at the 15th show in Sonar in Baltimore. Sick as fuck! Nie was the best performance! Glad that they had a bigger stage there in New York. Ours is small as fuck. Only because they were playing in the small area. It was so crowded though. Nile FTW! \m/

  • oh dude i was at this show ...it was fucking insane.....I luv these guys..the haircut did surprised the crap outta me
