  • It was a wonderful rendition of The Black National Anthem. While it may not have been the place for the song. Good on her for doing it. Hearing that song awakened burning fire within me to know more about black heritage and history. It is because of her that I found out the city of my birth was very same were the mancipation Proclaimation was enforced by Gen. Gordan Granger and 20,000 Union Soldiers in 1865. Three years after it's signing and that 1/24th Infantry were I was was Buffalo Soldiers.

  • I would have drowned her out with boos. You don't have a right to put another song in place of my National Anthem. I say "my" because apparently it's not yours. Leave this country if you're not proud of it, but you would never do that, huh? Things are just too nice over here, I suppose.

  • Screw Her

  • Rene Marie, You go girl! What a brave thing you did. And you did a beautiful job!

  • I have these beautiful vision's of someone turning off the sound of her microphone....or when she is on the second verse, someone coming up and cutting her off by taking the microphone and saying thank you...thank you...She looked so puffed up with self-indulgence, it was disgusting watching her with her eyes closed and just consummed with selfishness.

  • My nigga

  • All the way strong, Rene!

  • Her actions make other blacks along with herself look dirty, untrustworthy and incompetent.

Probably the opposite of what she was going for. I hope she spent some time behind bars for this racist nonsense she pulled.

  • @MinsterRogers "Amen" to that "brotha"

  • I think this is beautiful. I think those of you with negative comments are small minded. Suck it! She rocks.

  • I love how people will clap even if someone screws up the national anthem or doesn't perform the official one at all rofl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She did a remarkable job If she wouldn't have performed the black national anthem I wouldn't have known that we had one or who she was wooohooo.

  • Go ahead Sister, very brave of you to stand up and make that political statement and, you sang very beautifully.

  • I Still Love It!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you Ms. Lady. I feel sorry for those that don't know the significance of the ANTHEM! We have lived in a society that attempted to be SEPARATE but( notice that butt!!!! y'all) equal. Ironically when the children of kidnapped, raped, abused and dis-enfranchised Africans demonstrate their PATRIOTISM, we are ridiculed, disrespected, and criticized for their LOVE of AMERICA(the GREATEST NATION IN THE WORLD). PLEASE let us ALL move forward and accept the TRUE concept of America as a MOSAIC

  • This is hysterical. Stupid people didn't even realize this lady did this as a protest. It was done as a big FUCK YOU to every (white) person in that crowd. Ya know, those dumbass' who applauded did indeed deserve to have this done to them.

  • What's with the guy with his hand over his heart? What's with the applause at the end? This is typical Liberalism at its core: Go against anything traditional that you don't like.

  • What is up with the democrats insulting America with people singing other songs than what our national Anthem is!!! WHAT INSULTING JERKS!

  • @mommy5bears Blow it out of your A__!!!

  • it STINKS!!!!

  • @MinsterRogers And you are a perfect example of why Rene Marie performed this subversive action, you racist piece of tripe.

  • yesssssss... just beautiful

  • Get it Girl!
