  • Woah. What the hell. That's Mr MacDonald? And Miss Maund? Man, they've improved :3 I'm actually going to England with Miss Maund (Sorry for any name errors) this June :D

  • the first poomse is really bad... looks like dancing not fighting.

  • @speedraf you are right - it is very, very bad bu we don't call it "poomse" - it's tools.

  • the movement too slow...i think in street fight..that technical difficult use ...

  • 3rd and 4th degree?the woman is ok I guess but only considering shes a chick, the heavy fella is very poor,he can barely leave the ground on his jump kicks. Both of their self defense scenarios were terrible and pointless without any resistance.Neither of them has a clue how to do an armbar,in fairness ITF TKD doesnt grapple but if theyre going to use it youd think theyd get some decent instruction.Reminds me why I quit the itf after black belt.

  • a goodish display of Taekwon-do, my only problem is that even the creator gets bored and records something else!!

the last ITF 4th Dan i saw grade was so on point that i could not look away! he passed every element with zero fail rate!! and they asked people watching to spar him, everyone said no!

could have been better but still very good.

  • Interesting response. Curious why no one would spar him though, was he just that good that people would be hurt??

"he passed every element with zero fail rate!! "

So if he slipped up for even a second then he failed his test?

  • the simple answer is yes!

he is very technical and at the same time controlled but in our gradings, being struck does not affect your marks as its part of the process as afterall, it is a self defense martial art.

the fail rate is based on every student starting with 100% and percentages of marks are dropped depending on errors and faults. as we were informed, he did not fault in any element whether that be power, speed, breaking, defense work, kicking drills, matsogi set spaaring, etc

  • @hibikicade my apologizes for not replying, i did not know you had replied until i came across this video again!! ;-)

the gentlemen i saw test to earn his 5th Dan could afford to slip up and have his score drop but his ability and skill in Taekwon-Do meant it would be unexpected for him to mess up.

after watching the video again, i never paid attention the guy doig flips, i can see why you recorded it now! could have uploaded that part seperately but a good display all round in both parts.

  • i did not mean to offend you sir/ma'am, just my opinion from the other side of the pond!

afterall, we all do Taekwon-Do, live by the "Do" and enjoy our training, no offense intended and i hope the students/instructors that graded did well and if not, have success in their next grading opportunities

  • She wasnt bad at all - you have to be realistic - in real life situations, seeing that she knows how to execute very well, I believe her to be able to defend herself quite nicely.

  • Yep, yep, yep... I'd a got bored too...

Poor quality of instruction, I've seen 'good' tae kwon do, and this isn't it.

  • Haha you are a joke. Dude it is a 7 minute video how can you judge an instructor on a 7 minute video where he is not actually instructing?

  • Interesting judgement. Believe it or not, I can tell a lot from a seven minute video, and so can others. I don't have to see him instructing, the video shows his results.

  • Ok well I will choose not to believe it because you are not backing up what you are saying. Why is this not "'good' tae kwon do"

  • Alright, other than suggesting you look into a wide variety of videos posted here I can make a few remarks. First guy demonstrates a *lack* of power and crispness to his pattern. Large girl takes guy to ground and "kicks" his head in such a way that it looks more like she's shaking dirt off her foot.

  • View some other videos and find the average. Not good? Like the lack of power and crispness of the first guy, the kicks to the heads of the guys on the ground that look like flicks to get dirt off the foot, demonstrated lack of grace by guy breaking boards, should I continue?

  • Ok well when I watched the pattern it looked crisp to me. As for kicking on the ground, I don't see what you are talking about there either. What do you mean lack of grace. Board breaking is kinda about.... Board Breaking.... not who looks the best in a tutu while they are doing it. Find me some graceful board breaking please on here, because when I searched that it didn't have a single video.

  • Alright, since you're set in your opinions then please tell me what is so great about the tae kwon do in this video. Perhaps we can all learn something.

  • I never claimed it was great. I was just wondering why you were saying it was "Poor quality of instruction"

  • Fair enough, you didn't claim it to be great. I say it is poor instruction because a teacher can only be judged by the quality of work done by the student, if you see no shortcoming in the materials shown then it demonstrates the level you are at, and it shows how well you've been taught.

  • Touche. Just curious did you remove your original comment? I can't seem to see it anymore.

Just to clarify then you changed your mind and it is no longer the video that is the evidence that it is poor quality but it is the words of a stranger?

I has been nice talking with you hwyyhn but I am going to discontinue the conversation because you are a poor quality of a youtuber. My evidence is that you have not posted any videos.

  • Unhunh...

I guess you don't understand english very well. That's ok, just curious though, is that you (the first guy) doing such a poor job? Perhaps that's why you took offense so quickly.

  • Nope, however you can find me in the video several time. Some of the other videos I have posted have me in them as well. Feel free to comment, I love the feed back

  • Was that lady seriously a black belt? They hand em out to anyone now adays.

  • The music.. nice... but not for this video... the dan gun was really bad for the music

  • dude wtf she just put the red belt in a fukin arm bar i thought this was tkd no ju-jitsu

  • you also can be apart of ITF which is international tae kwon do federation while mine is WTF which is world tae kwon do federation

  • Ware do u do tkd i go t chos

  • in actuality the true name is roundhouse. i dont know where you get the name turning kick because that name can refer to a bunch of different kicks like back-spin, jumping turn around, back side, 360 back spin and or many other kicks. im not sure if youv'e had a korean master before but all the ones ive had have always referred to it as roundhouse and ive had 4 masters all from korea so i think i know what im talking about.

  • roundhouse?! i dont kick round houses!!

turning kick simply because you are TURNING as you perform the kick, turning of the supporting leg, turning of the hips and turning of the foot keeping the balkal (foot sword) hozitional to the target.

luckily for me i heard that directly from Grandmaster Choi Jung Hwa, the son of the father of Taekwon-Do gen. choi last year in May!!

    roundhouse makes no sense!

  • lol. u notice no one is thin in this video... =] lol, techniques were alright... no advanced kicks except for a backside kick and a jumping turn around roundhouse... not very impressive

  • In TKD we don't do roundhouses ;) maybe you should learn the names of proper techniques before you comment. TKD it is called a turning kick, there is a snap in the knee. Roundhouse is all in the hips, and no knee snap.

  • i love the hoo sin sool and braking were cool

  • o_O 8 minutes of my life... wasted

  • This testing shows several things. One, that korean martial arts is not just for the physically elite, but is design for defense of oneself. And two, the influence of BJJ and Ground Fighting has found it's way into most martial arts styles. 20 years ago you would not have seen a TKD person executing ground techniques.

  • also the instructor of both that tested for the 4 degree has a bb in jj.

  • That was... in a single word... GAY.

  • Omg I am so proud that you learned a new word. "Gay". You are almost in the top 1 percentile of intellects of the world.

  • I am soo not!!! Well I just have to nail my spot piercing kick and I'll be alright!!

  • Thanks. I'm hoping to get my 1st degree this year, Wish me luck!!

  • Sweet deal!I am actually testing for my 1 degree on the 17 of july, i am so ready :)

  • good luck

  • Wahey!! That's Dan Gun!!!!!

    What's the sound track?

  • ya, for the forth degree the examiner picks like 4 junior and then 2 of the 3 senior patterns. I got board with patterns so i didn't film it.

  • First song "send me an angel" by zeromancer. Second song, "Bulls on parade" by rage against the machine
