I have heard Noel sing this first, when I heard Liam on this version going for 'one fine day' at 1:13 he made it so perfectly with such a rawness that it was just Oasis. Can't really describe it. Everyone wanks over the Beatles, yes Paul McCartney is probably the greatest ever muscian but in 25 years it will be Oasis.

Second Part: Because in that time Noel thought he can write a number one song in 2 hours.. and thats why there is so much stuff from Oasis (especially in the early days) which is absolutly underrated.. because its almost better than the "new" stuff but it was never published (or only on B-sides).

Why Noel didnt made it as a single: For Oasis and especially for Noel Gallagher it was a decision between Supersonic and Listen Up (Listen Up! was written in the time of Definatly Maybe but never made it on the album because the song is just too similar to supersonic). The decision was Supersonic probably because its is more "public-friendly".

If you look at the chords and the Set Up of the song u can see that its pretty similar. Also Noel overdid it a little bit in that time: (second part)
