hardcore, short for hardcore punk. is the same thing for me as punk rock, just faster with more energy/aggresivity. theres no "hardcore" without punk.

metal joined HC later.. without hardcore there wouldnt be thrash metal. and then all those shit mixes born, crossover thrash/metalcore whatever you want to call that "new school hardcore" old or new hardcore is hardcore. its like when punk mixed with ska, ska punk aint the new ska. ska is ska.
