L's habits and what-not derive from the writer of Death Note, Tsugumi Ohba (As stated in the Manga series [Book 1, however this may be in every book], but not directly) as it states his hobbies are "Collecting tea cups, and working Day and Night on Plot lines while sitting knees up in a chair" Also, I read somewhere that Ohba's name is actually an Alias. (Not surprising, eh?) Hope this helps in a way. ;)

In response to L's way of sitting, picture this. He eats a lot of sugar, if not only sugar. This allows him to stay awake and gives him constant thinking energy. But if he were to sit down normally and comfortably he would get a sugar crash and black out. So by the constant act of keeping balance by sitting the way he does he prevents himself from crashing and gives himself constant energy. Hooray, and Happy Christmas!!! :D

@cynder199 Well I've noticed that when I'm physically extremely tired but my mind is raring to go, I tend to get huge bags under my eyes. The fact that L's mind is constantly energised by sugar to the point of where he finds it difficult to sleep even after possibly 3 days (or more, I don't know) of staying up, I'd say that the eye bag effect is dramatised hugely. Also, being in bad light most of the time (like sitting in front of a computer screen) tens to bleach the skin and remove saturation.

I can solve it with 4 light bulbs...Turn on No1 and No2 switch for a while then turn off No1 and turn on No3,and go immediatly upstairs..The No1 light is warm and switched off,the No2 light is warm and switched on,No3 is cold and switched on and No4 is cold and switched off..Therefore ur puzzle is inferior

If I got the Death Note, I would create a word processing document and type my list in 4 pt. font. I'd then use a page of the Death Note with my printer. That way, I'd kill much more efficiently, all at once, and without leaving my handwriting. I'd also be able to copy pasta names and entire lists.

Now that I think of it, if Light had known how to use a printer, he wouldn't have had any trouble at all--even if he was caught, there would be no evidence against him if he wiped his drive.

@GamesOplenty I think I found an answer. If from the left to the right you have the three swtiches, turn on the one in the left. Now you turn on the second one, in the middle. The one in the right, won't be turned on. Now you will turn off the middle one and go upstairs. The light bulb turned on, is connected to the first switch. The one that is turned off, but is still warm is connected to the switch in the middle. The light bulb that's turned off and is cold is connected to the third switch.
