The great Memphis bassist Tommy Cogbill played on the original recording of this by James and Bobby Purify. You can find it on youtube. The version you are playing is by the other great Memphis bassist, "Duck" Dunn. Tommy and Duck were arch enemies in Memphis in the sixties. I'm sure they were cordial and polite with each other and got along great, but the fact is, they were in competition with each other big time.
