Pardon my common speech here but Eddie is a badass. I was never a huge Jeopardy fan and would only watch it casually. I just happened to see Eddie's first night on the show and was compelled to watch for his entire run.
He certainly captivated my attention and impressed the hell out of me.
Eddie was definitely disadvantaged by only being able to hear the words and not be able to see them at all; reading words IS looking at a picture and trying to interpret it. People don't read words by "pronouncing" them.
When I see people correct themselves when they respond, I see that happen in the double jeopardy round when it comes to phrasing in a form of a question.
Well, I am glad to have known him for 10 years now, he has played my e-mail net games for that long, from Chain Reaction, to all my other games. I am just honored to have known him, he is an inspiration to all of us, that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE, and he broke the walls down and has given blind people the chance to compete on game shows, even with the disadvantages. But most of all, I am glad to call him my FRIEND. I hope someday I will get to meet him in person.
I think a better help for Eddie would have been a braille punch card so he could keep track of what clues were left on the board as well as the categories.
on the rerun of his last episode Alex said that he was able to keep track of which clues had already been taken... amazing. He was probably used to having to do things like that though to compensate for not being able to see.
He may be visually impaired, but he definitely has the guts and the brains to play "Jeopardy"! Certainly somebody to look up to (much more than Ken Jennings).

They probably would have offered that, but Eddie felt he had enough help.

Oh, if you left out the opening, then that means you left out the part where Alex gives Eddie the Braille card that has all the categories.

Kieth really got a break when he screwed up on the baseball nickname.

So did Becky with the mozart clue.
Gameshowboy 3 years ago
Yeah....but she DID say Amadeus which is part of Mozart's name. Kieth went with a whole different person for his mistake.

@Darkersun If you listen carefully at 1:09, Keith got ahead of Alex as he corrected himself.
