I live in Iowa City and this is effed. We're at 500-year flood levels, only 15 years after we hit the 100-year level during the flood of '93. I certainly wouldn't disagree that this seems, like Katrina, a possible sign of the weather taking a turn for the extreme courtesy of global warming / "climate change".

dude the weather is not taking a turn for the extreme this same thing happened in 1969 and some still think it was worse then than this year

Thang GOD we don't have global warming to worry about huh George? That's make this disaster even more devastating.
I hope for the people in this area, that Bush Co. tries a little harder to help rebuild than he has in the south.
